"How to Handle Stress," originally scheduled for March 17, has been postponed and rescheduled to start on April 12. The program will be held at 7 p.m. at the Seventh day Adventist Church, 560 N. Minor, in Heppner. "If we are to enjoy optimum health, we must cope with stress in positive ways." stated Don Reiber, who will be leading the presentation. "Those wishing to gain some ideas on how to do this are invited to attend. There is no charge," he added. The Building Better Lives series is brought to the com munity by the local Seventh day Adventist sOiurch. The third program, "How to Deal With Stress," will focus on ways of cutting medical ex penses. No date has yet been set for this topic. Mar. 13, theready-and-waiting housing that has been prepared fdor a refugee family expected to come to Heppner in the near future under the sponsorship of Hope and Valby Lutheran churches was open for inspec tion by interested persons. The spacious first-floor apartment of the large home belonging to the Francis Doherty Estate, on the corner of Gale and Church streets. has been completely renova ted and tastefully furnished by church members under the capable direction of Jane Rawlins. From 12 noon until 2 p.m., admiring viewers walked through the entry hall, livingroom, two bedrooms, large kitchen, bathroom and utility porch which are very clean and attractive. Church women served re freshments to the interested visitors, all of whom hope that the European parents and their two children will reach Heppner soon. Splits: Gene Doherty 4-7-9. James Randall Zimmer man. 26, of Boardman, was arraigned in Morrow County Circuit Court March 9 on charges of alleged Felony Driving While Suspended, re ported Morrow County Dis trict Attorney Richard McNerney. In other news, McNerney reported : Darrel Wayne Solomon, 42, of Irrigon, was arraigned March 11 in Morrow County Circuit court on two counts of alleged First Degree Rape and three counts of First Degree Sexual Abuse. John Luis Grady, no age available, of Arlington, was arraigned in Morrow County Circuit Court March 9 on charges of alleged First De gree Theft. Robert Cate. 38. of Irri gon, pleaded guilty March 9 to charges of Harassment and Fourth Degree Assault. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail - suspended, and one year bench probation. John Paul Johnson. 18, of Irrigon. was arraigned Marrh 14 in Morrow County Justice Court on charges of alleged Second Degree Criminal Mischief, Second Degree Criminal Trespass and First Degree Burglary. James McNiel, 21, of Irrigon. was arraigned March 14 on charges of alleged First Degree Burglary, Second De gree Criminal Mischief, Se cond Degree Criminal Tres pass and being an Ex-Convict in Possession of a Firearm. School board to meet The next regular meeting of the Morrow County School Board will be held Monday, Mar. 21. Columbia Junior High School, Irrigon, at 8p.m. The board will consider bids for school buses and will be accepting bids on a pump lhat has been offered for sale, said a school district spokesperson. They will also consider two policy matters: personnel records and part time atten dance. The board is also scheduled to develop a plan for disposal of surplus district equipment.
