EIGHTThe Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon, Thursday, May 13, 1982 8 HHS student place in Columbia Basin Rodeo Eight Heppner High School students placed in events at a Columbia Basin School Rodeo, held May 1 and 2 in Hermis ton. Tara Mahoney of Heppner was named All-Around Cow girl and Darwin Armstrong of Drewsy won All-Around Cow boy. Heppner won a third place team trophy, with South Cascade and Redmond taking first and second respectively. Tara Mahoney also took first in breakaway roping, first in cow cutting, fourth in barrels, fifth in poles and seventh in goats. Other Heppner students placing were Trisha Mahoney - 10th in goats and 10th in barrels: Earl Hammond - first in saddle bronc and second in bareback; Lee Rice - fourth in saddle bronc and third in bareback; Don Kindsfather -third in steer wrestling and seventh in team roping: Mike Currin - first in steer wrestling and sixth in team roping; Cliff Dougherty - third in team roping: and Marty Britt - fifth in steer wrestling. Bridgett Greenup, Kathy Hansen, Jack McQuire, Mike Brosnan, Steve Currin and Pat Schwarz. all of Heppner. also attended the rodeo. Masons to hold pancake -sausage feed May 18 Heppner Lodge No. 69 A.F. & A.M. will hold a pancake and sausage feed Tuesday, May 18, 6:30 p.m. at the Heppner Masonic Lodge. A meeting will follow the dinner. All Masons and their ladies are invited to attend, announ ced secretary Herman W. Winter. The evening will feature a special slide presentation on the George Washington Masonic Memorial. All visiting Masons are also encouraged to attend. Winter said. Seniors attending the noon meal at the mealsite are not charged for transportation. For those over 60 who do not attend the cost is 75 cents round trip. Cost for commut ers under 60 is $1.50.
