Invitational IK Ml( IIKI.I.KI.AIU'K The lone thinclads traveled m I'matilla on Saturday, April to. for a Morrow County Invitational track meet. The Cardinal boys finished third for the second straight week, l-ist Tuesday's meet was canceled because of poor weather, so this was only the Cards' second competition of the season. Several personal bests were recorded for the Cardinals. Denny Starr was first in the discus with a personal best of I2.V4". Starr was also first in the javelin with a throw of H2M1.-", also a personal best. The Cards' only other first 12 from HHS participate in rodeo Twelve Heppner High School Rodeo Club members participated in the Rufus High School Rodeo last Saturday and Sunday. April 10 and 11 Seven Hepner students placed in events. Don Kindsfather of Heppner and Scott Wright of Dayville tied for first in the All Around Boy category. Kindsfather also placed first in the calf roping and first in the team roping with Lindsay Claver of Hermiston In the calf roping division. MikeCurrin. Pat Schwarz and Cliff Dougherty took second, sixth and eighth places re spectively. Jr. golf classes set for May Any individual 16 years old or younger that wishes to take golf lessons should contact Mr. Paul Stringer as soon as possible, said a spokesperson.
