Hostesses were women who attended the regular Thursday social at the center, which was held before the party. Five cakes baked by Ida Coleman, Marilyn Bergstrom', Ruth Bergstrom and Theta Lowe were served with punch provided by Joy KrenTand ice crean that was donated by Theta Lowe. Mrs. Brindle was presented a bouquet of flowers and funds were contributed for her upcoming vacation to Canada She is scheduled to leave for Canada April 8 and return the following week. The center will be operated by volunteers while she is away. This new career brings Sargent back to Heppner's Mam Street where he is well known. He and his wife Lvnnea purchased the Coast -to-Coast Store on St Patrick's Day in 1M71 and operated for exactly 10 years, selling it to the Halph Limanens on that same date in I'UU Pick was a leader in the local Merchants' Association for several years The Sargents have two children, Rhonda (Mrs. Pave Winters i. who is employed by the Hank of Eastern Oregon here ami Mark, a veternary student who is now in Tri Vet ernary Medicine Training at Washington State I'niversity at i'uliman.
