A new Oregon law separates the state tax system from new federal law, so provisions of the 1981 federal Economic Recovery Tax Act won't apply for Oregon taxes. The main differences between state and federal law for 1981 are in depreciation of proper ty, capital gains on the sale of a home, and amounts of interest that are taxable; for instance, interest from All Saver Certificates is not exempt from Oregon tax.
