There were admit 73 people present for the day. Present from Umatilla County were Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Thorpe, she acting as musician. Also present were Mr. Thorpe, master of Hip Columbia Grange; Polly VanDebreake. Morton Wolverton and Freda Wolverton of Columbia Grange, Rose Sykes. the Rev. Calvin Uitfenhoiise, Tom Campbell, and Willhemlna Campbell of Cold Springs Grange, Elsa MrFlrath. Claude McF:iralh and Ethel Huffman, of State Line Grange. Following the instal lation a lovely polluck dinner was enjoyed. The tables were beautifully decorated in the Christmas theme. In charge of serving the dinner were Charlene Papinenu and Josie Peck, assisted by grange members. There were gran gers present from Itufus, Mikkalo. Greenfield. Rhea Creek. Willows. Lexington and Wheatland Pomona Granges. Masters of the subordinate granges were introduced, as were guests from other coun-. ties. Myrtle Marshall is a patient in Pioneer Memorial Hospital. Leila Messenger had the misfortune to fall and break an arm. and is c onfined to her home. The Committee on Women's activities met at the Cecil Jones home on Tuesday for a regular meeting and Christ mas get-together. They began with a business meeting at 10 30 a.m. which was .followed by a politick dinner. In the afternoon, the committee made plans for the coming year's activities and enjoyed visiting. The card party for January was discussed. It will be held Saturday evening, at 8 p.m at the grange hall with Josie Peck and Charlene Papineau in charge There will prizes and refresh ments The door prize was won by Marie Kteagall. Those present were Josie Peck. Charlene Ptipineuu. Virginia Peck. Jean Nelson. Joyce Buchanan. Thcv will be members of Ixington 72fi, A lovely bridal shower was held at the Pat Wright home on Saturday afternoon. Pec. 12. honoring Susie Johnson. bride elect of Mark Wright. Games wereplaved wilh Alicei Majeske. Rena Marquardt. and Julie Watfcnburger winn ing prizes. Mrs.Wrigh's home was beautifully decorated in the Christmas theme. Follow ing Hie opening of gifts, loveiv refreshments were served. The cake was pink with two white hearts with the names "Mark" and "Susie" centered on each. The cake was served with coffee and punch. Hostesses for the afternoon were Ginger O'Rrien. Joyce Hughes and Betty Marquardt. Friends were happy to hear thfil Orville Ciitsforth. who recently underwent major surgerv at Providence Hospi tal in Seattle, is reported to he doing well and will soon start thcrapv. Mr and Mrs. John Wagen hlast and children of Odessa. Washington visited with his mother. I,ee Wagenhlasf and The Ileppner Gazette-Times, returned to their home Sunday evening. Dec. 13. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buch anan motored to Crescent on Saturday where Mr. Buchan an gave his daughter, Ellen, in marriage to Frank Stevens at the Community Church in that city. There was a lovely reception following the cere mony In the church social rooms. Mr. and Mrs. Buchan an then motored to Portland Heppner, Oregon, Thursday, December 17, I981-THREE where they joined Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Vinson of Ileppner and all attended the Ice Follies. The group returned home on Monday. Dec. 14. The Three Links Club met at the Cecil Jones ranch on Thursday for a regular meet ing. After a short business meeting the group enjoyed visiting and opened the ex changed gifts and Secret Sister gifts. The rooms were decorated for the holiday season, and refreshments were served following the meeting. The door prize was won by Virginia Peck. Those attending were: Irene Pad berg. Dorothy Burcham, Ruth Robinson, Eula Bloodsworth. Leila Palmer, a guest Annetta Padberg and the hostess Delpha Jones. Cards were sent to shut in members.
