A February 6 wedding date has been set. SHERIFFS The Morrow County Sher iff's Office at the Morrow Co. Courthouse in Heppner hand led the following calls during the past week: On Oct. 21 a one vehicle accident occured on East Wilson Road, Boardman. A Boardman City Police officer reported a man trapped in the vehicle. A Boardman fire truck was dispatched to wash down the area. Injured was Virgil Wayne Morgan, Irri gon. Morgan was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital, Hermiston, by a Boardman ambulance. Also on Oct. 21 a two-vehicle non-injury accident was re ported at the entrance to Desert Springs Estates, Boardman. The drivers were Mark A. Plant and Everett G. Moore, both of Boardman. a Morrow County Sheriffs de puty responded to the report. In another October 21 inci dent, an accident occured on Interstate 84 on the west bound on ramp in Boardman, involving two tractor trailers and one car. Drivers of the tractor trailers, Donald Wil liam Clark, Huston, Mont, and Joe Bill Smart, Nampa, Ida., were not injured. Driver of the car, Gerald Walter Duffey, Pendleton, sustained injuries and was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermis ton by a Boardman ambul ance. A Morrow County Sher iff's deputy and a Boardman City Police officer responded to the accident. Gravel was bladed onto French Road, Van Schoiack, Upper Rhea Creek, Fuller Canyon and Stock Drive. Bladed and ditched were Hughes-Hill-Swaggart Road, E.W. Stock Drive, Porcupine, Spring Hollow Road, Shobe Sanford Road, Tupper Hard- Marriage Licenses A marriage license applica tion was received at the .Morrow County Clerk's Office at the Morrow County Court Heppner REPORT Cosgrove, Amity, was arrest ed by the Portland Police Dept. on a Morrow County 5th Justice Court warrant for alleged failure to pay a fine. Cosgrove posted bail and was released. Also on October 22, Lelia Palmer, Wilson Trailer Park, Irrigon, reported a burglary. A Morrow County Sheriff's deputy responded to the re port. In another Oct. 22 incident, Serfio J Gutierrez, Irrigon, was arrested by a Morrow County Sheriff's deputy on a Morrow County Circuit Court warrant for alleged probation violation, Gutierrez was lod ged at the Umatilla County Jail. In a fourth call to the Sheriff's office on Oct. 22, George E. Gowan, Boardman reported the theft of batteries. A Morrow County Sheriff's deputy responded to the call. On Oct. 23, a three vehicle accident was reported three miles east of Boardman on 1-84. Three persons were reported injured. An Oregon State Police officer, a Board man fire truck, a Boardman ambulance, two wreckers, two Boardman City Police officers and two Morrow Co. Sheriff's deputies responded to the report. The three injured were transported to Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston. Also on Oct. 23, Fred Haberstitch, of the Boardman Shell Station reported a truck on fire. The Boardman Fire Dept. responded to the call. report man R'dge man Ridge Road, Wyland Road, Balm Fork Road and Lena Hilser Road. Roads graveled were B. McLaughlin and the City Limits to 612. Roads oiled were Juniper, Ione-Boardman and No. 586. Shop work included minor repairs on various pieces of equipment. The D7 cat was transferred to Pendleton for the installation of a ripper. Senior Citizen News Senior bowling is being offered for all senior citizens every Thursday at Heppner Bowl from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A blood pressure testing clinic will be held at the Heppner Senior Mealsite at the fairgrounds in Heppner on Nov. 4. Testing will be available from 11 a.m. to noon, said a spokesperson. Circuit Court Sept. 3 to one count of sexual abuse in the first deRree, after an incident County Court discusses ordinances, AOC conference By MARY ANN CERITLO Commissioner Dorothy Krebs conducted the first readings of two newly prepar ed ordinances as Morrow County Court's first order of business last Wednesday, Oct. 21- The ordinances cover the setting of meeting times for Morrow County Court and a curfew for minors under the age of eighteen, (see public notices) A second reading of the ordinances, as required by law, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4. Business continued as County Court discussed their participation in the annual Association of Oregon Coun ties (AOC) conference to be held November 18 through 20 in Pendleton. According to the conference preliminary program, the speaker for the first evening will be Senator Mark Hatfield. It is expected that Waterway User Fees will be one of the topics discussed, Commission er Dorothy Krebs told the Gazette-Times. Other scheduled speakers include Governor Vic Atiyeh and Alan Holmer, assistant to President Reagan. Krebs is currently serving on the AOC committee for Public Lands and Agriculture. Commissioner Warren McCoy and Judge Don McElligott are serving on the Finance and Administration Committee. DMV announces increases, new rules of the road The cost of renewing your driver's license will go up Nov. 1 from $9 to $11, but the cost of getting a first-time .driver '8 license in the state will increase from $9 to $16, according to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles. County Court will not be held on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11, or on Nov. 18, when the commissioners will be attend ing the AOC conference. There will be a public hearing on plans to build a second freeway interchange in Boardman, Wednesday, Nov ember 18 at Riverside High School, 7:30 p.m., said Judge McElligott to the court. The proposed diamond in terchange will be located two miles out of town and will link Interstate 84 with the Port of Morrow without travel on city streets.
