The Federal government has a continual selection of free booklets available on almost every subject of interest to the average citizen. Just mail a postcard with your name and address requesting the code .number of the booklet to: Consumer Information Center, Dept. 50. Pueblo, CO 81009. Because supplies are limited, Consumer Information asks that you order only one copy of each booklet and allow up to six weeks for delivery. Here is a list of a few booklets available: 1) Shopping By Mail moH This four page booklet details your rights when shopping by mail and offers suggestions on how to protect yourself and what actions to take if you become a victim of mail-order fraud. 2) Dollars and Sense (620H) This 12 page booklet sheds some light on the causes of inflation and how you can cope with it. 3) Fair Credit Reporting Act (608J) If you're turned down for credit, this booklet tells you what to do next. 4) Insulate Your Water Heater and Save Fuel (611H) Ideas for insulating your electric or gas water heater and other energy conserving strategies. 5 Home Buyer's Vocabulary (637J) This simplified guide to the most frequently used real estate terms can help both the buyer and seller when dealing with lawyers and real estate brokers. 6 The Car Book (628J) Includes everything from a. name-brand guide to today's new cars and how they performed in Government crash tests and fuel efficiency tests, to a survey of the car's maintenance and accident-repair costs. 7) Fly-Rights (629H) Advice and tips for traveling by air. Mr. and Mrs Weiser nf Heppner have purchased the Soward house and have hwn IUCC to celebrate Haystack Two members of the lone United Church of Christ serve on the present United Church Board for World Ministries: Fred Martin and the Rev. Cathy Barker. The lone church plans to celebrate the Haystack an niversary with observances throughout the month qf October. The celebration begins with World Wide Com munion Sunday on October 4. After the 11:00 worship ser vice the congregation will gather for a pot luck dinner. The Deaconesses of the church will provide freshly baked bread from many parts of the world. A hymn -sing and presentation of a play of the Haystack Prayer Meeting will follow. Each worship service dur ing October will reflect the emphasis on world mission. The congregation will hear the stories of several partners in mission, and each person will receive the name and storv of a missionary familv to prav for. Local members who have traveled will share displays of items from various countries. On October 25 the Haystack celebration will cIosp with an International Dinner at fi:m p.m. at the lone United Church of Christ. This event will be a family night for Stewardship and Celebration. The public is invited to share in the celebration of the 175th anniversary of the Havstack Prayer Meeting. Lyle Cox returned home on Monday after a stay in a Portland hospital recuperat ing from a heart attack. Correction A story appearing in last weeks Gazette-Times entitled "Morgan sentenced Septem ber 18" was in error. The story reported that charges against Morgan for solicitation to commit murder were drop ped.
