Analysis of monthly drinking water samples indicated that the June sample was positive for coliform organisms and that this result exceeded the limit allowed by law. The coliform organism is used as an indicator of microbiological quality, and while these or ganisms pose no threat to health, their presence does indicate that a source of contamination might exist somewhere in the water system. An investigation was initiated by the City as soon as the positive sample was re ported. Chlorination was im mediately instituted and sub sequent samples of the drink ing water were negative to coliform.
