This piece of legislation has been tabled three different times in the Senate Environment and Land Use committee and 1 doubt very much that it will get to the Senate floor for a vote. Nathan weighed 9 lbs., 3 oz. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Thompson, lone, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Thew, Crane, Ore. Great-grandparents are Whitney and Louise Hinds, LaMesa, Calif., and . Steven Montie Cnim - A son, Steven, was born to Beverly and Montie Crum, lone, on June 12, 1981, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner Steven weighed 7 lbs., 9Hs oz. Grandparents are Lou and Kalph Crum, lone, Jim Pheg ley, Heppner, and Marlys Green, Reedsport, Ore. Steven joins a brother, Robert, 3, and a sister, Camie, 2, at home. . .Jacob Winn Cooper - A son, Jacob, was born to Karen and Dale Cooper, Heppner, on June 12, 1981, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Hep pner. Jacob weighed 6 lbs., 10 oz. Grandparents are Lyle and Maxine Cox, Lexington, Eleanor Cooper, Napa, Idaho,, and Thomas Cooper, Napa. Great-grandparents are Elsie Huston, Lexington, Oma Cox, Heppner, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Knox Cooper, Napa. Jessica Kay Schoonover - A daugher, Jessica, was bom to Laurie Schoonover, Lexing ton, on June 12, 1981, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner. Jessica weighed 7 lbs., 4 oz. Grandparents are Lawrence and Sharon Schoonover, Lex ington. Great-grandmother is Gladys Schoonover, Omak, Wash. Jose Gustaba Aguayo - A son, Jose, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Augustin Aguayo, Board man, at the Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston, on May 19, 1981. Jose weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. Cynthia Anne Hanson - A daughter, Cynthia, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hanson, Boardman, on May 22, 1981, at Umatilla Hospital in Umatilla. Cynthia weighed 6 lbs., 8 oz. - Amber Irene Maynards - A daughter, Amber, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Luke Maynards, Irrigon, on May 23, 1981, at Umatilla Hospital in Umatilla. Amber weighed 7 lbs., 4 oz. bills dealing with water qual ity control this session and I look forward to hearing input from my constituents on any of these measures. Billy C. Bellamy State Representative District 55 Amber Marie Williamson -A daughter. Amber, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Williamson, Boardman, on May 26, 1981, at Umatilla Hospital in Umatilla. Amber weighed 6 lbs., l1 oz. Obituaries Martin E. Dyer Funeral mass for Martin E. Dyer, 69, who died at his home in Heppner June 13, 1981, was 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Heppner. Interment was at the Heppner Masonic Cemet ery. Recitation of the rosary was 7:30 p.m. Monday at the church. Mr. Dyer was born Aug. 13, 1911 at Solidad, Calif., the son of Samuel and Georgia (Mar lor) Dyer. He was married Dec. 1, 1951 to Helen Doherty at Carson City, Nev., and had worked as a civil service employee for 36 years. After 36 years as a civil serv ant with the US government in California Mr. Dyer retired to Heppner. Bill Kenny, sang musical selections, accompanied by Lula Rowan as organist. Pallbearers were Mike Doher ty, Tony and Dennis Doherty, Tad Miller, Ken Turner and Ron McCabe. Dyer was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Elks Lodge 358, Heppner. He is survived by his wife, Helen, Heppner; sisters, Rose Shinn, Napa, Calif., Cora Shinn, Long Beach, Calif., Florence Newton, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Laura Anker, San Francisco; and numerous nieces and , nephews. Dan Lindsay Funeral services for Dan Lindsay, 98, a longtime resi dent of Umatilla and Morrow Counties, were held June 11 at 2 p.m. at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Burial was at the Echo Cemetery. Mr. Lindsay died at Hep pner on June 8, 1981. He was born in Pittsburgh, Penn., on April 30, 1883, moving to Echo in 1915. He , later homesteaded in Alpine, living there until 1940 when he. moved to Hermiston. He had been a resident of Lexington for the past four years. He was active in the Golden Age Club at Hermiston. He is survived by a daughter Annie Perry of Vancouver, Wash., six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. SHERIFF'S REPORT The Sheriff's Dept. at the Morrow County Courthouse in Heppner handled the following calls during the past two weeks: One June 13 a one-vehicle accident occurred approxi mately one mile north of Cutsforth Corners on Highway 207. Six people were involved in the accident. A Sheriff's deputy responded to the call. On June 13, Leigh John Cronland, lodged June 12 at Umatilla County Jail for alleged Burglary I, was serv ed with an additional charge of Burglary II by the Board man Police Dept. On June 12, Leigh John Cronland was arrested by a Morrow County Sheriff's deputy for alleged Burglary I. The subject was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. . On June 11, Perry W. Biggs, Hood River, was arrested by the Eugene Police Dept. on a Morrow County 5th Justice Court warrant for driving with a suspended license. Also on June 11, Edward L. Goddard, lone, was arrested by Morrow County Sheriff Larry Fetsch for alleged Theft I. The subject was lodged at the Hermiston Safety Center. On June 10, Craig Howard, Lexington was arrested by Morrow County Sheriff Fetsch on a Pendleton Police Dept. warrant for violation of basic rule. Also on June 10, Faye Ruhl, Lexington, reported a burg lary at a ranch house. On June 9, Andrew H. Quorp, Portland, was arrested by the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office on a Morrow County 5th Justice Court warrant for allegedly driving with no operator's license. The subject was lodged at Mult nomah County Jail on local charges. Also on June 9, Randall C. Jydstmp, Heppner, was ar rested by Oregon State Police on a Morrow County 6th Justice Court warrant for alleged violation of release agreement. The subject was lodged at the Hermiston Safety Center. On June 7, a one-vehicle accident was reported Vi mile south of Clarks Canyon Road. The driver of the vehicle was William Dale Whitman, Bil lings, Montana. A Morrow County Sheriff's deputy re sponded to the call. On June 6, a Boardman ambulance responded to a call for a 70-year-old woman who fell from her camper and may have broken her hip. Also on June 6, the Chevron Station at Boardman reported the theft of services. The Boardman Police Dept. re sponded to the call. On June 5, the caretaker at the Lexington Cemetery re ported the theft of a new lawn mower. A Morrow County Sheriff's deputy responded. Also on June 5, Jean Bennett, Hinton Creek, re quested the fire department. A barn with hay inside had been hit by lightning. The Heppner Fire Dept. responded to the call. In other June 5 incidents - Ernest V. Riehl, Aurora, was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff's Office on a Morrow County 6th Justice Court warrant for allegedly legotiating a bad check. Edward L. Goddard, lone, was arrested by Morrow County' Sheriff '8 deputies on a Morrow County District Court warrant for alleged Theft I. The subject was lodged at Umatilla County Jail. Alvena A. Shafer, Hermis ton, was arrested by the Umatilla Police Dept. on a Morrow County 5th Justice Court warrant for allegedly driving under the influence of intoxicants. I On June 4, Armand Wynne, Heppner reported the theft of a chainsaw from his resi dence. A Morrow County Sheriff's deputy handled the call. Wedding Announcements Warnock Huddleston Molly Huddleston and Lyman Warnock of Fairbanks, Alaska were married in an evening ceremony Friday, June 5, at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Heppner with Father John O'Brien officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Huddleston of Heppner. The bridegroom's parents are Leona Warnock .and Bill Warnock of Enterprise. Attendants for the couple were""PaTtyIIuddlestonTor Heppner and Howard Huddleston of Portland. Music for the ceremony was provided by Geneva Mathews. On Saturday afternoon. June 6, a wedding reception and buffet were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Huddleston with many out of town relatives and friends attending. The couple is now at home in Fairbanks. Route 2, Box 2057, Heppner, failure to yield - $29 fine; Walter Wendell Nix, Black Horse Canyon Road, Heppner inadequate rear view mirror - $12 suspended fine; Randy William Hughes, P.O. Box 526, Base Line Road, Lexington, vehicle license ex pired - $6 fine; Ellis Lloyd Pettyjohn, Route 1, Box 3426. Heppner, vehicle license expired - $6 fine; Sharon Kay Reynolds. P.O. Box 24, Highway 26. exceeding maximum speed (62 miles per hour in a 55 mph speed limit) -$24 bail forfeited; Ralph Tony Marlatt. Route 1, Box 3047, Heppner, driving under the influence of intoxi cants - $207 fine; Craig Richard Robison, Route 2, Box 2337, Heppner, improper U-turn - $29 bail forfeited; Craig Richard Robinson, open container of alcoholic liquor in a motor vehicle - $55 bail forfeited: George Russell Morgan, 326 N. 3rd Street. Hillsboro, fail ure to drive to right - $29 bail forfeited; Wilfred Charles Jones. P.O. Box 31, 280 S. Main, Heppner, no fixed load license - $24 bail forfeited; and David Dean Vernstoppen, general delivery, Dale, Ore., operator's license expired - $6 suspended fine. Road work Th Morrow County Public Works Dept. released the following work report for the week ending June 13. Roads bladed this past week were: Lexington Cemetery, Dalzell - Dry Fork, Keck .Canyon, Porcupine, Carlson -Bergstrom, and Holtz. Crushed rock was spread on Dick Smith - McNabb West and the Bert Peck Road. Oil rock is being stock piled on the shoulders of several county roads for future repeal ing. In the Boardman-Irrigon area new culvertsjwerejnstal led on Slaughter Road. Shoulder work, and reseal Ing of Lower Rhea Creek is progressing well and will be completed next week. A section of the Paul Brown Road was rebuilt, the asphalt removed and the roadway was reshaped In preparation for future resurfacing. Fair & Rodeo Queen and Court guests of - .' Krebs nf lone has been named 1981 Master Shepherd by the Oregon Sheep Advisorv Council at the Sheep and Wool Days of Oregon Stale University last April .24-25. The annual award is presen ted by the council which includes representatives in major sheep organizations in Oregon. It honors industry leaders and those who have done an outstanding job. Henry Krebs. active in county, state, and national sheep grower associations, is currently treasurer and direc tor of the Oregon Sheep Four-day work Monday. June 22. all offices at Blue Mountain Community College will go on a four-day work week schedule for the summer months. This is the third summer that college offices have been open Mondays through Thurs days and closed Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. A delegate to the American Sheep Producers Council for six years, he is a member of the Stale Sheep Advisory Council. In 1951. Henry Krebs re ceived his bachelor's degree in animal science from OSU mid returned to the family ranch in Cecil where he and a cousin, Dick Krebs. began the Krebs Brothers Ranch. The ranch, considered one of the best run in the Pacific Northwest, has sheep, cattle, wheat, and alfalfa week at BMCC costs." according to Truman Bailey, BMCC registrar and monitor of the college's energy saving projects. The air conditioning at the college is turned off at 4 p.m. on Thursdays and is not turned on .again until 11 a.m. on the following Monday. Bailey reminded organiza tions planning to hold Friday meetings on the college cam pus, that the buildings will not fx- air conditioned that day.
