Chairman Published: June 4. 19H1 NOTICE OF MEASURK ELECTION MORROW COUNTY Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday. June 30. 1981. an election will be held in Morrow County. Oregon. The polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The following question shall be submitted to the qualified voters thereof: ADDITIONAL SERVICES LEVY OUTSIDE THE SIX PERCENT LIMITATION SHALL THE VOTERS AUTHORIZE MORROW COUNTY TO LEVY $40,778 FOR A SHERIFF TRANS PORT DEPUTY AND A BUILDING INSPECTOR? Purpose The purpose of this measure is to provide funds for one additional deputy and a trans port vehicle for the Sheriff's Department and the hiring of a building inspector for the Planning Department. Explanation If you vote yes, the County will hire one additional deputy sheriff and buy a mid-size vehicle suitable for transpor ting prisoners. Since Morrow County does not have a jail, prisoners must be lodged in Pendleton. The addition of a Building Inspector would greatly In crease the service available to the public from the Plan ning Department. The fees PUBLIC NOTICES - QJ collected for the service should meel most of the expense involved. The "A" ballot must pass for this measure lo be valid The cos! of these two addition al services and the vehicle plus the 10 percent added amnnl for uncollected taxes will be $40,778 totally financed by local taxpayers and will result in an estimated tax rate of $07 per $1,000 of assessed value, This legal notice is to be published in the Heppner Gazelle-Times newspaper. Donald C. McElligoll County Budget Officer Morrow Countv Clerk Barbara Bloodsworth Published: June 4. 1981 NOTICE OF MEASURE ELECTION MORROW COUNTY Notice is herebv given that on Tuesday, June no. 1981. an election will beheld in Morrow County, Oregon. The polls will be open from R (Hi a m. to 8 on p.m. The following question shall be submitted to the qualified voters thereof: SPECIAL ELECTION BAL LOT - THREE YFAH ROAD SERIAL LEVY SHALL THE VOTERS AUTHORIZE MORROW COUNTY TO LEVY A THREE YEAR ROAD SER IAL LEVY OF $4,966,653 OUTSIDE THE CONSTITU TIONAL LIMITATION? Purpose The purpose of the measure is lo provide $1 .655.551 per year (or three years to reconstruct major arterials and heavily used secondary county roads. Explanation Morrow County citizens have requested the County Budget Committee to submit a three year road operating serial levy to the voters in the amount or $4,906,653 The annual levy will be $1.055. 551 per year. This serial levy for county road reconstruction has been reduced by $3.601 .347 or $1 .21X1.449 per year from the original proposal. The pro gressively deteriorating con dition of county roads and further delay in ma jor repair increase the risk of substan tial cost escalation. This money will lie used to match FAS funds, purchase needed equipment and, by request of the County Road Advisory Comittcc. to contract major construction projects. A per centage of this, by statutes, will go to the cities. If this measure is approved $4,906,653 will be totally finan ced by local tax payers and will result in an estimated tax rate of $2.85 per $1,000 assessed value for fiscal year 1981-1982. This legal notice is to be published in the Heppner Gazette-Times newspaper.
