Thursday, .lillllllll'V K, l!M Lexington news lpha Jone$ Robert Dean Swift, died at Sacred Heart Hospital, in Spokane as a result of a car accident Dec. 11 near his home in Kingston, Idaho. He was buried Dec. 16 in Kellogg. Idaho. Robert was born July 5. 1952, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Swift of KellogR, Idaho, former Lexington resi dents. 'His mother was the former Rose Thornburg who lived her childhood in Lexing ton. After graduating from high school in 1935, she and Mr. Swift were married and moved to Kellogg, Idaho where they still make their home. Robert leaves his wife. Shellie, daughters. Stacy. Jennefer, and Marcy, and a brother, Harold Swift. He was a nephew of Ruby and Harold Beckett of Heppner and Pine and Faye Thornburg. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Papineau were Friday callers at Walla Walla where he consulted and ear specialist. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jackson of Hermiston were Lexington callers to attend the funeral services of Cora Warner, former Lexington resident. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buch anan have returned from the holidays spent in Seattle, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Pad berg and family of Dayton Wash., visited his mother, Catie Padberg, and other relatives over the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Wallace and family visited recently with his mother and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bergstrom and other relatives and friends. Eugene Sawyer, Pasco, Wash., was a caller in Lexington on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Jack McMillan, from Redmond, were Lexington and Heppner visitors and attended the graveside services of Cora Warner. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Er mantrout and family are visiting in Coeur D' alene, Idaho. Mrs. Jackie Papineau is a patient in St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton. She was trans ported to Pendleton from Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner where she received first aid for a broken hip. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Papineau attended the funeral services for John Springer in Pasco last week. Heppner News (Editor's note: The Gazette Times welcomes local news. Ronald Reid, his wife, Virginia, and their son, Rob bie, of La Grande spent Christmas with his mother, Ruth Reid. Guests of Mrs. Edna Bailey over the holidays were her daughter. Colleen, and family of LaGrande, Wyo.; other holiday guests were a brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Jenkins of Portland. U.S. Army Capt. Chris Brown returned to his duties with the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Ha waii, after a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul T. Brown. The family spent Christmas with their other son, Mark Brown, at his home in Winslow, Wash. (Bain bridge Island). During the past yeat, Capt. Brown has had a six-week special assignment in Aus tralia and has also completed a training mission in Korea. It has been a year since he had visited with his family. Mrs. Brown said that he was very impressed with our warm winter weather.
