Jeff and Kathie Ma hen nought the station from Tom and Donna Troxell the end of Ocloher and have renamed it Ileppner Chevron Tom iH'gan working for the Morrow County Road Dept. on Oct. 20 a a mechanic. TheTroxells, who owned the station for around two years, have two children The Maliens formerly worked at the Horseshoe Hereford Ranch near Riic.fis They and their daughter, Tara, 3, are in the process of moving in to Ileppner. The Ma hens are also expecting a new baby. Souper Seaniers have meeting The Souper Seamers 4 II Club held their second meet ing of the club year on Nov. 15, at I p.m.. at Judy Wright's house. OSU Kxtension Forestry agent, will offer a program on that topic Dw. 4 at 7:30 p m, Stove efficiency and se lection, costs involved in cutting your own wood, char acteristics of the wood com monly available for use local ly, as well as storage safety and other topics of interest to those considering the addition of a wood-burning stove will be discussed. Mitchell, who shares his time between Grant and Morrow counties, is well qualified to present the topic. He not only is a forestry specialist, but practices what he preaches, His new home in John Day is heated by wood Stoves. Everyone is invited to attend the free meeting to learn all about burning wood. Pasta Programs Variety noodles, won tons, manicotti. noodle salad, ri cotti stuffed shells, and other pasta goodies were enjoyed by the crowd who attended the pasta program in Ileppner last Tuesday night. Special guest speaker. Ivan Packard, administrator. Ore gon Wheat Commission, told of the work of that agency in promoting the use of wheat and research as well as the importance of the wheat dollar to the local economy. Demonstrations included preparation of pasta in a food processor and noodle roller and cutter by Birdine Tullis; whole wheat noodles made entirely by hand method by Jean Brazell: won tons by Janet. Kevin, and Nina. Brok and Bryce Tucker. Molly Saul served as moderator and included consumer informa tion on nutrition, where to buv School readiness program slated Nov. 20 The last session of the school readiness program has been scheduled for Thursday. Nov 20. at 7 pm. at the Ileppner Elementary School multi-purpose room, Pat P.dmundsnn. first grade teacher has an nounced .
