Member of lone High School's saxophone quartet try to warm up (literally) at an impromptu
outdoor concert Tuesday morning at Heppner City Park, as temperatures hovered around the
freezing level.
The quartet is preparing for a concert at lone High School on Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature beginning lone Band students (4th
graders), intermediates (5th graders),; junior high members (Gth, 7th and 8th graders), the lone
High School Chorus, the lone High" School jazz band and the saxophone quartet.
Members of the cool quartet are Chris Rietmann, lone High School junior; Gene Sartain, lone
School band director; Sylvia Ladd. IHS freshman; and Barney Rea, IMS senior.

Seminar I : "How to Pick a
Winner," Nov. 13
Ttiis seminar will cover the
variety of reasons to pick one
college over another, Jnfor
mation will be given on many
of the Oregon achools includ
ing both public and private,
four year and two year
colleges.
Seminar II: "What Are
They Talking About?.' Nov.
20
This week's topic will in-
dlude discussion of the term
lology used such as hours,
major, greeks, co-op, se
quence, etc. During this ses
sion students will actually
work out schedules using
registration materials from
Blue Mountain Community
College. This will involve the
use of college catalogues,
schedules of classes and
registration forms.
Seminar III: "Prepare for
the SAT," Dec. 4 -
During this session students
will finalize schedules and
work on the SAT materials.
This is not a cram course, but
rather, an opportunity to try
the different types of ques
tions and review some test
taking techniques. The SAT
will be given on Saturday.

Pay For This?," Dec. 11 -Counselor

The seniors decided they
would like to have blue gowns
for the boys and yellow for the
girls Therefore, all girls must
order caps and gowns. Boys
may borrow from brothers or
sisters since the blue gowns
"have been used in previous
years.
Moderne Studios has indi
cated that they will be at the
school on Nov. 13 and 14 to
accept orders for senior pic
tures and to lake any retakes
necessary. Again, parents are
w elcome to come to sehcKil and
place orders.
