A Minnesota Hunter Cas ually Study revealed that a large percent of the hunters musing hunting accidents had defective vision and that a majority of them were not aware of It. Another pointer from the Cookie workshop offered again Keen use of the unanticipat ed demand of the Blue Mountain Community College "Christmas Cookie Work shop," a second section is being offered, says BMCC area coordinator Nancy Brnwnfield. The workshop will feature do-ahead holiday cookies, us ing both traditional and for eign recipes. Students will be mixing cookie batter and baking during the class time. Use of cookies as centerpieces will also be demonstrated. The workshop will Ik held at Heppner High School from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13. Sheriffs Report The Morrow County Sher iff's Dept. reports the follow ing incidents over the past two weeks : On Oct. 21, a pickup truck was reported to be on fire on 1-84, one mile east of Board man in the west-bound lane. The Boardman Fire Dept. responded to the call. Also on Oct. 21, a grass fire was reported along the road three miles east of Boardman. The Boardman Fire Dept. again responded to the call. On Oct. 18, the sheriffs dept. received several reports of bird hunters on posted land and in the game refuge. On Oct. 17, Max Louder reported a two-way radio, valued at $rW), stolen from a tractor at Simtag Farms. On Oct. 14, Corrinne Guz man reported a burglary at Lincoln Square Apts. at Boardman. I fnnl EOSC soccer team shut out of competition Eastern Oregon State Col lege .Soccer Coach Harvey Lipman said recently that the Northwest Intercollegiate Soc cer Conference, affiliated with NAIA, has, in effect, closed out EOSC from 1980 Collegiate league soccer competition. According to Lipman the 15-member EOSC team was on the "final" 190 schedule of the Northwest Intercollegiate Soccer League he received in June. He subsequently found out that the league met in September and reorganized Into two divisions. Lipman said the new Central North west Intercollegiate Soccer Conference (CNWISC) then scheduled their games for the 1980 season leaving EOSC out. "The action of the CNWISC was at best inconsiderate," said Lipman, who had already made travel and housing arrangements for the first schedule of games. He had recruited new players and even begun practice. The close-out means there is no chance for EOSC seniors to compete in organized league soccer during their last year of eligibility at EOSC.
