Sorop timist International of the Q (ericas, Inc., was held Oct. ud 5. at Campbell's Lodge, Chelan. Wash. The hostess club of Chelan was assisted by the Okanogan, Omak and Wenatchee clubs. Total attendance of delegates, club members and guests from eastern Washington and eastern Oregon was 135. The theme of the mating was "Pioneers of the Future -Unplowed Trails," and the director was Dortha Voruz of La Grande. Everything was cooperative with gorgeous weather in a beautiful setting, said a club spokeswoman. Lexington, is among beef cattle exhibitors registered for the 70th annual Pacific International Live stock Exposition Oct. 11-19 at the Expo Center off the 1-5 freewav in North Portland. The Grieb ranch is showing ten head in the Angus division. The traditional PI horse show, intermingled with five standard events of Profess ional Rodeo Cowboy Associat ion approved professional ro deo is the main arena enter tainment for the show. A separate countrv variety show is also included with general admission. In the circus-like livestock section some 3.500 farm and ranch animals will be shown and judged in eight huge tents. World faiths topic of study What is the oldest major religion in the world? Who was Buddha? What is the religious reason for the caste system? What is the Moslem (Islamic) view of life and death? How are Judaism and Christianity intertwined? These are some of the questions that will spark learning about world faiths in a six-week adult study group at the lone United Church of .Christ. "We will discuss world religions from the perspective of our own faiths." said the Reverend Cathy Barker of the lone church. During the meet ings, which will be held on Oct. 9. 16. 23 and 30 and Nov. 13 and 20. focus will be on Hinduism. Buddhism. Chinese philoso phies. Islam and Judaism.
