The twenty-seventh annual
meeting of District No. 3,
Northwestern region. Sorop
timist International of the
Q (ericas, Inc., was held Oct.
ud 5. at Campbell's Lodge,
Chelan. Wash. The hostess
club of Chelan was assisted by
the Okanogan, Omak and
Wenatchee clubs.
Those attending trom the
Heppner club were President.
Jeanne Sumner, Federation
delegate E'laine George,
Treasurer Clista Venard.
Marlene Peterson and Regio
nal delegate Mary Goheen.
Total attendance of delegates,
club members and guests
from eastern Washington and
eastern Oregon was 135.
The theme of the mating
was "Pioneers of the Future -Unplowed
Trails," and the
director was Dortha Voruz of
La Grande. Everything was
cooperative with gorgeous
weather in a beautiful setting,
said a club spokeswoman.
Detailed reports were on the
Federation convention held in
Denver in July, which was
attended by Heppner's Elaine
George, and informative
workshops on plans for the
Library

stock Exposition Oct. 11-19 at

is also included with general
admission. In the circus-like
livestock section some 3.500
farm and ranch animals will
be shown and judged in eight

The show is open daily from

show-rodeo nightly at 7:30
plus 1:30 p.m. performances

General admission is $3.50
for adults. $2.50 for senior and

intertwined?
These are some of the
questions that will spark
learning about world faiths in
a six-week adult study group
at the lone United Church of
.Christ.
"We will discuss world
religions from the perspective
of our own faiths." said the
Reverend Cathy Barker of the
lone church. During the meet
ings, which will be held on Oct.
9. 16. 23 and 30 and Nov. 13 and
20. focus will be on Hinduism.

phies. Islam and Judaism.
The study group is open to
all interested and will be held
in the lone United Church of
Christ basement from 7:30 to 9
