Ed and Violet Sikes were very faithful in their attendance at the Senior Citizen dinners and were helpful to the county senior advisory committee. They have recently reloc ated in Salem, Oregon (3600 Blossom Dr. N.E., zip 97303). Violet sent a nice long letter to their friend Mary Nikander, telling about their early activ 0 Lexington news Delpha Jones Lexington residents were deeply grieved to hear of the death of a former Lexington man, Aaron Klinger of Her miston, son of Annetta Klinger and the late Pete Klinger of Lexington. His untimely death was caused by a car accident near Walkers Stand. He was enroute to Hermiston from Lexington where he had spent the day with his mother and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Klinger. He leaves his wife, of Hermiston, and two brothers. Bill and Vic of Portland, and Steven of Chicago, and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The funeral notice is to be announced later. Leora Kane and son, Pat rick, visited with Mrs. Gladys VanWinkle over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Has kins of Williston N. Dakota visited John Spence at Pioneer Memorial Hospital on Thurs day and with Florence Mc Millan in Pendleton on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Sawyer of Burbank, Wash, were callers at the Annetta Klinger home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buch anan are again at home after a trip to Portland and Hillsboro. Wrights in Woodburn. Mrs. Bob Smith, who is spending the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Marquardt. and husband. Bob. from Good Samaritan nursing training in Portland, had the misfortune to wreck her car enroute home Sat. morning from her work at the Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner. She is, at present, a patient in the hospital recup erating. Mr. and Mrs. Clay Grace (Lolita Marquardt) is spend ing some time in Lexington and Heppner where he is employed harvesting with Jim Bloods worth. The Lexington Christian Church and the Heppner Christian Church members enjoyed a pot luck dinner and an afternoon of fun at Cuts forth Park on Sunday. They had a good attendance and all report a very enjoyable time. the bride's parents home in Lexington. Maggie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Baker, Lexington. Dan is the son of Duane Spangler, Boise, Idaho. new rules under the U.S. Grain Standards Act that became effective April 30. A former blanket exemption allowing exporters to ship grain by truck or rail into Canada without it being offic ially weighed has been elimin ated from the new rules. Instead, these shipments will now be eligible for the 15.000 metric ton exemption, Bartelt explained. Tuesday, August 12, quite a few Morrow County seniors will be journeying to Meacham for the August five-county Area Agency on Aging which will be held at the mountain home of the area director, Rollin Reynolds. There will be mornintf meal site committee meetings and an after-lunch general meet ing with area reports. County seniors are remind ed that they should be hunting up their senior fair passes or dropping in at the Neighbor hood Center to obtain a pass which will admit them to the approaching County Fair. t k. - J . He was combining the wood gathering project with a camping outing with his three grandson's from Boise, Idaho when the accident happened, around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. After giving himself first aid. he directed the boys to load tools and earning gear. At Twin Falls, Eddie, Lota and Gary enjoyed a short time at the fortieth anniversary1 party for his parents, which was held that afternoon at the Twin Falls Methodist Church. After Rev.
