The local Veterans of For eign Wars, partnering with the Heppner Swim Team, will take all concessions at 35 percent as they were paid last year. But the concessions person nel do have some require ments for the rodeo board. They request that water, a griddle and a refrigerator are provided near the bucking chutes; water is provided at the newest grandstand; chair man Jim Launer requested a car pass; and a sign saying "No Horses Allowed" needs to be placed near the new grandstand. The rodeo board agreed the demands were not out of line and would present them to the fair board for further consid eration. If the demands are not met, the VFW and the swim team want to pay a smaller per centage. In other news, it was announced that Pepsi is mak ing the fair and rodeo posters free of charge and they should be available in July. The National Rodeo Associ ation judges for the rodeo were approved and will be contacted. They are Harry Nobles. Darrel Bussey, Nor man Gorree and Don Griffith. It was reported there were too many policemen at the Jr. Rodeo Dance and it was felt there was harrassment. Some committee members said they will speak to Sheriff Larry Fetsch. There was an inspection , the rodeo grounds by fair board members Charlie Daly and Ron Currin and they made some recommendations of what needs to be done to fix the facilities before the rodeo. The Morrow County Royalty Court of Queen Lori Edwards and Princesses Lottie Laugh lin and Nancy Miller took first place at the Spray and Arlington Rodeos. Their next appearance will be in Umatil la. They made grand entries at the recent Junior Rodeo and presented buckles as prizes after the competition. II was announced that Gene Pierce will be the announcer at the county rodeo with timers Lorraine Montgomery and Stan Kemp and the chute boss will be John Rattray.
