Heppner, Oregon, Thursday, February 28, 1980 THIRTEEN Ione's Beecher's Tavern robbed of liquor, road explosives stolen from state department A robbery at Beecher's Tavern in lone and the theft of some dangerous explosives from the state highway de partment are two of the cases the Morrow County Sheriff's department has been working on this week. An 18-year-old from Uma tilla, Derrick Miles,; was arrested Feb. 22 jn connection with the burglarly of the ' Beecher's Cafe and Tavern. He was arrested for two counts of burglary and one V count of first degree theft. .., Gale Gray. Box 91! in lone, "reported that someone had pried open the front door to get into the building; Missing were approximately 67 bottles of different types of liquor with a value of more than $500. Isaac in Pendleton.-reported that two padlocks were cut with bolt cutters so someone could gel in to the explosives trailer at the Oregon State Highway Dept.' between Lexington and Heppner on Highway 74.' Item 454-363 Pair In other sheriff's news. Paul Francis Van .Marter. 255 W. Baltimore in Heppner, was arrested and then released on $500 bail for manufacturing a controlled substance and pos session of a controlled sub stance. A warrant for the arrest of Paul Robert Huff was put out in connection with the Beecher's Tavern burglary. The warrant is for burglary in the second degree and first degree theft. Robert Gene McKee was cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. Two 15-year-old male juve niles in Irrigon were handed over to juvenile court for criminal mischief. Rose Fos ter. Irrigon Mobile Ct. No. 3. reported that her two young neighbors were throwing rocks and pounding their fists against her mobile home. A warrant has been put out for the arrest of John Leonard Moin of Boardman for bur glary in the first degree and menacing. Bail has been set at $10,000. Franicisco G. Sanchez. Irri gon Trailer Ct. A-3. was cited for driving while under the influence of intoxicants. Rob Harris of Heppner reported that some of his guns were missing. SPORTS Bowling Results Koffee Kup League The Weary Wives team is in first place in the Koffee Kup Keglers League with a 17-7 record followed by the Three L's at 16-8. The Dregs team is third at 13' -i-101 2 and the Newcomers and Pytts tied for fourth place at 11-13. The Hi Ho's are next at 10-14. the Gutter Dusters are 9-15 and the Three Holers last at 84-15' 2. Ellen Kennedy bowled the high game of the week with a 187 and Linda Schultz rolled the high individual series with 467. The Gutter Dusters had the high team game with 586 and the high team series with 1,665. The Three L's team is first in total pins by only one pin as that team has 9,250 and the Weary Wives team has 9.249. The Hi Ho's team is third with 9.208, the Gutter Dusters fourth with 9,164. the Three Holers fifth with 9.093, the Dregs sixth with 9.077, the Newcomers seventh with 9.059 and the Pytts last with 8,950. Sparetimers League Kay McRoberts bowled a 219 game for the high game of the week in the Sparetimcr's Bowling League. She also had the high individual series with 512. Central Market had the high team game with 754 and the Morrow County Grain Grow ers team had the high team series with 2,128. Cindi Doherty made the 2-7-10 combination split. Petersons is in first place in the league standings with a record of 18-10. Three other teams are hot on the trail with 16-12 marks. They include Sears, Coast -to-Coast and the Morrow County Grain Grow ers. Gardners and Central Mar ket are tied for the next position with 13-15 records and Jerry's Mobil is 12-16. Buck nums is last with an 8-20 mark. Morrow County Grain Growers are first in total pins standings with 14,836 followed by Petersons with 14,750 and Coast-to-Coast with 14,712. In the fourth spot is Jerry's Mobil with 13,494 and Central Market is fifth with 13,443. Sears is sixth in total pins with 12,801 and Bucknums seventh with 12,676. Gardners is last with 11,961. 1 1 .
