Miss Baker will wed Kelly Campbell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Campbell, The Dal les, May 26. Hager is Managing Editor of the Gazette-Times and a resident of Heppner for the past two years. Mrs. Hager has been employed as office manager for a Walla Walla business firm. Diana is a graduate of Baker Senior High School (75) and Eastern Oregon State College (78). She is employed by the Hermiston School District as a high school science teacher. Cutsforth hospitalized in Portland Orville Cutsforth, Lexing ton, was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland Monday for tests, according to a family spokesman. Cutsforth, a long time farm er and participant in the Lexington Grange and Hep pner Chamber of Commerce, suffered a mild heart attack last week and was treated at Pioneer Memorial Hospital, Heppner. i OR BUST fl. lin H T T AT k DAY A K WEEKEND A is planned in the First Presby terian Church in Baker, Oregon. Their O Lexington news o.Delpha Jones A group of Holly Rebekah Lodge members attended a luncheon and fun afternoon at the Willows Grange Hall sponsored by the Bunchgrass Rebekah Lodge No. 91. The dinner was served at 12:30 p.m. from tables beauti ully decorated with lighted candles and candle rings, matching napkins and May baskets at each place in pastel colors. A program of clever poems and readings were heard aut mothers after which games were played with each guest taking home a prize. Preceeding the meeting the ladies met at the Jones home for a short Three Links club meeting. Plans were made for summer card parties for a benefit of the lodge, the food sale held on Friday and discussed business for the rebekah Assembly in Baker. Those present were Josie Peck, Virginia Peck, Florence McMillan, Leila Palmer, Joyce Buchanan and the hostess Delpha Jones. Troedson Educa tional Fund met last week at , the Morrow County School District Office in Lexington to select students to receive scholarship grants from the Sign up for Fall program Parents of children who will be entering Kindergarten at lone Elementary School next year are asked to bring them to the school on Tuesday, May 22, at 10:15 a.m. for pre-regis-tration. They will spend the morning with the kindergarten teacher and finish at 11:15 a.m. June 2 at noon in The Dalles. A reception will follow at the Portage Inn. Meeting changed The lone Church of Christ Study Group meeting original ly scheduled for Thursday, May 17 has been rescheduled for May 29 in the church basement beginning at 7:30 p.m. Five pronouncements w:ll be discussed at the meeting before the General Synod meets at Indianapolis. Open house for Cade Padberg Sunday, May 20 An open house is slated Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. to celebrate the 80th birthday of Catie Padberg, Lexington. The event will be held at the ' Lexington I.O.O.F. Hall. Mrs. Padberg was born in Lexington and has been active in Rebekahs, Degree of Honor, the Lexington Christian Church. Award recipients will be announced at graduation exer cises in the county's three high schools. Present college stu dents whose grants have been renewed will receive direct Mike Newell, director for the Child Evangelism Fellow ship in Umatilla and Grant counties, was the special speaker. Newell, a ventrilo quist, brought Toshua, his dummy and they were enjoy ed by all. Newell is also the director for Good News Camp. Camp is year will be held August 19-25 and all children seven to 12 are eligible to attend. Camp Good News is held at camp Elkamah which is on Highway 244 between La Grande and Ukiah. Kindergarten registration scheduled Heppner Elementary School has scheduled a Kindergarten Orientation Day, Wednesday, May 23 from 1-4 p.m. and again at 6-8 p.m. in the Kindergarten Room at the school. . Parents may register at that time. There will be no class in the afternoon but they will be able to meet the teacher, get used to the room. To register their children, parents need a birth certificate and a record of immunizations. If immuni zations are needed, they may attend a clinic at the school Thursday, May 24 at 9:30 a.m. Children can not be admit ted to school without up to date immunizations, according to state law.
