HARRP applications mistake filled SALEM-Taxpayers filing 1978 Homeowner and Renter Refund Program (HARRP) claims are making several common errors, the Oregon Department of Revenue has found. The most common errors are: Renters are not complet ing the rent schedule on the claim form; Homeowners are not- af- taching a copy of their property tax statement to their claim form; Homeowners are attach ing assessed valuation notices instead of property tax state ments; Mobile home residents are filing claims which don't include either property tax statements or rent schedules. For most of these errors, the claim forms are returned to taxpayers for corrections. HARRP refunds are mailed in October. Deadline to file a HARRP claim is April 16. Individuals with less than $16,000 annual household in come may qualify. The amount of the refund depends on income level and property taxes or rent paid. Claim forms are included in the state income tax packet and are also available separately
