Souper Seamers 4-H Club
held their last meeting at Kim
George's house on Feb. 10.
We learned how to make
submarine sandwiches and
soup. Our junior leader, Tara
Mahoney, demonstrated how
to boil eggs. She also made
each member a needle holder
out of red felt in the shape of a
heart for Valentine's Day.
Kimberle Wright demon
strated how to measure
liquids.
Our next meeting will be
held March 3, at Merry
DeSpain's house.
April 3 vote
crucial to
Boardman
Boardman area voters will
have several choices to make,
in addition to school-related
issues, when the April 3
election date rolls around.
The election will include
voting for new directors for
the Boardman Rural Fire
Protection District, the Board
man Park and Recreation
District and the Boardman
Cemetery District. Two four
year terms are up for grabs on
the fire district panel, in
addition to vacancies in two
unexpired directors' positions.
Two directors for four-year
terms are also being sought by
the park and recreation dist
rict, and two additional direct
ors are needed to fill un
expired terms. The cemetery
district has one four-year
director's term open for
election.
Nominating positions must
be filed with the Morrow
County Clerk prior to Feb. 27.
Anyone interested in filing for
any of the positions may
obtain blank petitions at
Boardman City Hall.

SALEM-Taxpayers filing
1978 Homeowner and Renter
Refund Program (HARRP)
claims are making several
common errors, the Oregon
Department of Revenue has
found. The most common
errors are:
Renters are not complet
ing the rent schedule on the
claim form;
Homeowners are not- af-
taching a copy of their
property tax statement to
their claim form;
Homeowners are attach
ing assessed valuation notices
instead of property tax state
ments; Mobile home residents are
filing claims which don't
include either property tax
statements or rent schedules.
For most of these errors, the
claim forms are returned to
taxpayers for corrections.
HARRP refunds are mailed
in October. Deadline to file a
HARRP claim is April 16.
Individuals with less than
$16,000 annual household in
come may qualify. The
amount of the refund depends
on income level and property
taxes or rent paid. Claim
forms are included in the state
income tax packet and are
also available separately
