SIXTEEN The Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon, Thursday Nov.2, 1978 Save that geranium! Agent tells how Tax info available at BMCC Have you got a healthy, good-looking geranium you'd like to keep through the winter and replant next spring? If so, there are two ways to do it, says John Nordheim, Morrow County Extension Agent. The best way to save your geranium is to take stem cuttings and grow new plants. Choose firm, healthy stems from two to four inches long. Insert them into a pot of sandy soil and water thoroughly. After the roots have started, which takes two to three weeks, give the cuttings full sunlight and continue water ing. Keep them as house plants until next spring. Ano ther method is to carefully dig up the whole geranium and put it in as small a pot as will hold the root ball. Prune back the top of the plant about half way and keep it in the house until spring. Saving this year's geranium lets you exercise your green thumb through the winter. And it will save you money next spring when you don't have to buy new geraniums. review course. It is designed for accountants who are interested in sitting for the CPA exam. WWPA established the 12 state western lumber produ cing industry's practical capa city for any fmen month as the highest actual production reached in that month during the last five calendar years, including the current month. The monthly WWPA capa city report covers lumber production totaling about 18 billion board teet manufactur ed annually in the 12 western states. That is about 60 per cent of the U.S. softwood output.
