" To my friends and family for the cards, flowers, prayers and warm acts of kindness, thank you. I shall remember you for them always. Arthur Stefani Sr. I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to friends and relatives who remembered me with cards, flowers, visits and other acts of kindness during my recent illness. My special thanks to the nurses and staff at Pioneer Memorial Hospital for their comforting ' care. Alice McCabe There's a story going round Everything that goes up Must come down And If it's a bird Without a sound Though it sounds absurd Jf it hadn't been for the second ,'Not the third!" It was only Another fifteen feet to the -. ground. A slight exclamation! , At the beginning of the trip ; "Or should I say slip" Could have been heard Such as "Oh no not now ! " But the comment At the meeting at the floor Did not come out, "OW". For the young lady who witnessed the fall Would have to testify that "OW" was not all, As she went hurrying by To give the alarm and the cry That "Bat Man" couldn't really fly. And to enhance the drama After the X-rays and comas He would spend the night In hospital pajamas. The end of the story Doesn't come here It was the night before the Annual The event of the year! And the roll call for Esquire Would be a resounding "Not here". Sorry I couldn't attend the gala function and grand festi vities with each and everyone, but feel you all deserved an ' explanation of my absence. I truly missed the fellowship of the evening. I am humbly grateful for all of my wonderful friends, for the many cards sent me, and the many visitors who called on me; also am truly thankful for the fine care from the ! hospital staff and Dr. Wolff.
