The Morrow - County Cow Belles gathered during Farm City Day, Friday, Dec. 9 for their annual fall business ineeting to elect officers.enjoy the style show and banquet and present a special award. The new slate of officers elected during the morning meeting includes Mary Mar tin, president; Mary Kilken ny, secretary; Ruth Nutting, first vice-president ; Jean Ben nett, second vice-president; and Beck Evans, treasurer. Claudia Hughes retained the position of director. Dawn Burton, of John Day, state CowBelle president, commended the group on acheiving the largest county and national membership in creases in the state. Judy Currin, membership chair man, was later presented with two silver plaques which had been awarded to the Morrow County group at the state CowBelle convention for the membership gains. Two county CowBelles were named to state committees: Virginia Grieb, Lexington, was appointed vice-chairman of the publicity committee and Susie Ward, Heppner, will become 4-H awards state chairman in 1978. The county CowBelles will participate for the first time in the annual state-wide Beef Cook-off, Jan. 11-28. Betty Carlson, lone, was named chairman. After the business meeting, Virginia Grieb showed slides from the Angus Forum tour to Scotland she participated in. Pre-registration for Blue Mountain Community College Evening classes will close Dec. 26 and interested persons are urged to get their pre-registration forms to the college by that date. Two classes, Tole on Clocks and Cross Country Skiing, are already full. Calligraphy has three openings. .
