Mayor Chester Wilson also reported to the council that he had contacted Congressman Al Ullman's office in Wash ington, D.C. urging re-enactment of legislation on revenue sharing to cities under the presently used formula. Also under discussion was the city's untenable position in the designated critical ground water area. It was noted that Irrigon is the only city that is so located. The projected growth of the area cannot be met with the present water supply and the city has been told that a second well cannot be drilled into the basalt. Five area persons were among more than 2,000 Uni versity of Oregon students, honored during the Univer sity's spring term commence ment. Sunday. June 13.
