The ladies left Fridaj and returned home Sunday evening. Butch and Paula Carey arrived in Kinzua Friday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Benson and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hampton. Ray brought his wife home on Saturday mor-' ning from Portland where she had been hospitalized for more than a week. Butch and his wife, after a most enjoy able visit, Ronald and Jill and with his parents, went home to Springfield Monday. Dave Mattison lost a fight with Johnnie Jackson's post peeler Sunday evening. After emergency treatment by Margaret McConnell Dave was taken to The Dalles by his wife. Sue and Johnnie Jack son. Dave was able to return home the same evening but will be unable to work for a.' while since he has a large number of stitches in one finger and two other badly bruised fingers. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hardwick went to Bend Thursday to visit Don's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hardwick and his sisters and families, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Scarlett and Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Overton. Satur day the Hardwicks went on to Eugene where Don attended a meeting of the Directors of Oregon Logging Conference. Following the meeting they went to Corvallis to visit their son Don at school. Jiggs and Rita Bowman and granddaughter Ericka spent Wednesday and Thursday in Prineville for dental attention for Jiggs. Their daughter Sara Riney accompanied them home to visit a few days. Dave arrived on Friday to Join his wife. Saturday the Rineys and Bowmans and their son Vic and daughter Cindy took Ericka home to her parents, ' Joe and Robin Bowman, in Portland. The group also went to Washington Saturday where they spent the night at the home of Jiggs' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lytton Strom, Longview. Mrs. Margaret Orr, Prine ville arrived Saturday to spend the weekend with her son Gordon and family. Hershel and Betty Murdock went to The Dalles Friday for medical attention and to take care of business. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ball spent Saturday and Sunday in Heppner visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Don Pike went to Portland Saturday on business. They stopped in Odell to have coffee with the Grady Rogers. They enjoyed a short visit with Margaret, Grady was gone fishing. Carol and Earl Norris went to Bend Wednesday. They stopped in Prineville on the way home to visit with Earl's brother, Fred Norris and family. Also present was Earl's niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shoe maker from Craigsville, WV. On Saturday Earl and Carol went back to Prineville to see Mr. and Mrs. Al Apperson and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Apper son. The Ernest Appersons, Carol's sister, are from Mc Cloud, CA. Bernard and Carol Dyer went to The Dalles Saturday to do some shopping. CB radio A citizen band radio has been donated to the Sheriffs Department by the Morrow County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Posse. The CB radio Is monitored on channel 9 and is to be used for emergencies. All calls will go to the sheriff's department and In the event of an emergency the sherifr de partment will notify the posse of the location of the emer gency and the nature of the trouble. There are presently 37 members in the MCSSARP. Marie Turner, Morrow County Grain Growers took the honors for Individual high game with a 192. Inetia Canton, Peterson's rolled a 524 to take the high honors for individual high series. Peterson's rolled a 909 for team high game with Central Market second with a 901. Central Market rolled a 2575 for team high series with Peterson's a close 2nd with a 2574. The Election of Officers was held April 20, 1976 at the regular meeting. Those elect ed were: President, Don Cole; 1st Vice President, Bill Lan de; 2nd Vice President, Bob Johnson; 3rd Vice President, Mike Anderson; Secretary, Dave Harrison; Treasurer, Dave Dollarhide, Tail Twist er, Larry Mills; Lion Tamer, Clayton Henog; Board mem bers Cliff Green, Mike Howell, Mark Johnson and Neil Parks. The Charter Night Banquet will be a steak and seafood dinner followed by a dance. The Club will recognize the "Outstanding Lion" of the Club and there will be other awards. "Membership Award Keys" will be presented to four Club members who have brought new members into the club. These awards go to David Harrison, Bill Lande, Richard Sargent and Dave Franzen, who is still a member but livef in Burns. donated president Simon Winters, sec retary Don Isom, treasurer Mark Miller and historian Archie Ball. 10 members of the MCSSARP were Issued certi fications March 16 as a result of several training sessions and seminars held by the Oregon State Emergency Ser vices Division and Oregon State Sheriff's Association. The sessions include classes and practice on the following subjects: first aid, outdoor survival. Topic of dis cussion were Corporate Farm Initiative and the Credit Union. Richard Cox was rein stated in the Grange. The hall committee reported the crab feed was a success. The next meeting will be May 12. The M.M.M. Club met Wed nesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Bud Engle with all ten members present. There are three quilts completed, two will go on the emergency shelf and the other will be raffled off at a later date. Easter greetings were sent to seven past members that had moved away. The door prize was won by Phyllis Patzer and the white elephant won by Mae McWillis. The next meeting will be May 20 at the home of Mrs. Grace Fitze. Mrs. Bud Engle spent last weekend at the home of her daughter and family, the Will Martins of John Day.
