Pat;e 6, THE GAZETTE-TIMES, Obituar KM M A II A(iER The community is saddened by the death of another pioneer resident ; Emma Marilda Baird Hager, 86, who died Sunday, Nov. 2, while visiting her daughter in Cor vallis. Emma Baird was born Nov. 29, 1888, HilltQwn, PA. She was united in marriage to James Osmin Hager at Heppner, in Sept., 1909. Mr. Hager preceded her in death in Feb.. 1963. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the United Methodist Church Heppner, with the Rev. Edwin Cutting officiating. Doris Cut ting and Barbra James sang "Oh Master, Let Me Walk With Thee", accompanied by Pauline Miller. Casket bearers were James Farley. Gene Pierce, Kenneth Evans, Jerry Brosnan, Robert Hager and Steven Shaw. Concluding services and interment were at Heppner Masonic Cemetery. Sweeney Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Hager was a member of the United Methodist Chur ch. Susannah Circle, and Neighbors of Woodcraft. Hep pner Hager Park, now being developed by the Bicentennial Commission, was named in her honor. Survivors are two sons, James Monroe Hager. Hepp ner: Homer Edison Hager. Hermiston: a daughter. Har riet Elizabeth Shaw. Corval lis: four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. LENA ASH Lena E. Ash. W. died at the Umatilla Hospital Sunday. She was a resident of Board man. Funeral arrangements are pending at Burns Mor tuary. Hermiston. VERLE EARLENE GREEN Verle Earlene Green. 37. died recently in LaGrande. She is remembered here for the many years she was employed at Lois's Bauty Shop during the years her children were attending school. Her three sons. Sam uel O of Georgia. Thomas L of California and Kelly of Washington and her daugh ters. Marilyn. The Dalles and Ava. Union are also remem bered Verle is also survived by her parents Giles and Edlie 'Har ris' Van Housen. Union and three brothers and a sister, and five grandchildren. She was buried at Union with the Rev Grace Drake officiating at the Union Methodist Chur ch PERCY J. UILHE1.M Percy J. Wilhelm. 75. died at the Umatilla Hospital Wed nesdav Mr Wilhelm w as born in Oregon. June 30. 19oo Mr Wilhelm had been a resident of Irrigon and Her miston 10 years He formerly was a sawmill owner and operator Surviving are the widow. Mary Elizabeth. Irrigon. son. Roy.' Missoula. MT.. daught er. Joyce Story - Nelson. B C: brother. Lee Wilhelm. Seeley Lake. MT. two sisters. Nora Shrimp. Grants Pass, and Mintie Bntton. Bay City, MI. He worked for the U.S. government for many years as a locksmith and gunsmith. Survivors are the widow. Geraldine; son. Richard. Gol dman. CO; and two grand children. Sweeney Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Mll.O HIVKI.EY Milo Jacob Hinkley died in Boise. ID. Oct. 29 Mr. Hinkley was born in North Ogden. IT. Aug. 25. 1907. He was married June 19. 1927 in Payette, ID to Marie G. Wilson. He worked for A C. plant and Bingham Pipe and Con struction Co. In 1936 he moved to Irrigon w here he w orked for Standard Oil of California until he retired in 1955. In 1958. Mr. and Mrs. Hinkley moved to Ontario where they contin ued to make their home. Oct. 26. to elect a new board member as Mead is leaving Gus Peterson was appointed and Mrs. Gary Engle elected as secretary treasurer. Other members are George Stubblefield and Bud Engle. Phil Murphy and daughter Trissy went to Portland Sun day to get Mike, who recently underwent back surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital. Doctors announced he was able to come home.
