Total estimated cost of Ihe projects is $:l. 104.800 of which $2.-t.M.74-l will be paid by Ihe federal government and KM. 050 by local agencies. There is no cost lo Ihe stale. The program w as announc ed last May as a means designed to improve rural area roads. Only those roads which are not part of the , federal aid system are eligible for financial assistance under the program. Under Ihe funding program. Ihe federal government pays 78 per cent of Ihe cost and the local unit 22 per cent with no slate funds involved. Oregon received an allocation of $'.678,613 as its share of the program and when matched bv Iik'iiI funds il w ill amount to Sj.tKW.224 for repair lo local roads and streets.
