I had some reserva tions about the number of people that would come into the office for consultation. Today, six months later the case load is staggering and I could use the services of another professional man. said Terri Hirni. director of the Mental Health program in Morrow County. His present workload con sists of a 10-12 hour day. six day s a week, or about one full week of overtime for every four weeks worked. He is spending 26 hours per month in various schools throughout the county wilh the exception of Heppner High School, for consultations. At Heppner High School he has an answering service and makes appointments from the ser vice provided him. In most counties in Oregon, there is one professional man for every 2.000 people: how ever, in Morrow County with a population exceeding 5.000 people he is working alone.
