Messick, native of Nyssa, was graduated from high school there and later at tended Boise Junior College. He Joined First National at his hometown in 1961 and was assigned to the Madras branch two years later, He worked at the Hood River and Sherman County branches prior to hia appointment as operations officer at the Baker Lt. Darratt at Ft Hood Army 1st Lt. Scott Barratt. 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Barratt, Route 2, Heppner, has been assigned as an attack helicopter flight platoon leader with Troop B, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry of the 1st Cavalary Division at Ft. Hood. Tex. Lt. Barratt, who recently was graduated from the U.S. Air Force Combat Operations Specialist School, entered the Army in February, 1971. A member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and the scabbard and blade society, he was graduated from Hepp ner High School in 1966 and received a B.A. degree in Business Administration in 1971 from Washington State University, Pullman.
