'A Dai M Paul Uinlert ( ) National Honor Society Members Not rietm ed: ( ami Kaellunhes l.iuda Miehele Johnson IX-nnis McKay will be the guest spaker at the class of in73's commencement exer cises May 24 at 7: 30 p.m. in the Hfppner High School gym. Mr. McKay was a counselor, speech, typing and drama teacher at HHS from 1968 -1972. He was last year's Teacher of the Year. This year he is teaching in Bend. Penny Marquardt will be the senior class's honored guest. "Imagine." written by John Lennon. will be the class theme. and will lie sunn by the 46 graduating seniors. Peach and orange have been chosen as the class colors and nosegays as the class flowers. Other speakers are the vale dictorian and two salutatorians. Bill Jepsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jepsen. lone, will head the senior class as valedictorian. Bill has an ac eummulated CPA of 3.90. He was the recipient of the second place Elks Scholarship. .This year Bill served as president of H-('lub and vice-president of KFA. He will be Joining the East learn as a tackle in the Shrine game at Baker this summer. Bill will be attending Washing ton Stale next year, backed by an ROTC scholarship. He plans on entering pre-veterinarian. Tami Meador. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Meador of Heppner. and Kathleen Bart-k-it, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bartlett. Boardman, tied for salutatorian honors. Both have an accummulated GPA of 3 73. Tami is president of National Honor Society, student body treasurer, arid an active mem ber of drama club. Kathleen is a member of 4-H livestock, cooking, sewing, and knitting. She was a princess on this year's Homecoming court, as well as being a member of the Morrow County Fair and Rodeo Court for this summer. Seniors selected juniors Greg Davidson and Kristi Hague wood to lead the graduation procession as grand' marshals. Judy Bennett and Gary Hunt were chosen as candle lighters. Program girls will be .ean Christman and Susan ' Healy, and picked as ushers were Karl Harrison, Barry Munkers, Jack Chittv, Mike Prock, and John Healy. Members of the class: Mary Margaret Abrams.
