Mr. and Mrs. Dick Calvert became the proud parents of a daughter, Jennifer Dawn, on Dec. 6. Belinda Suzette arrived on Dec. 12th to brighten the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Morgan at lone. Boardman is having Open House at the Nelson Square office building and at the nearby Frontier Irrigation and Supply store this weekend. Dec. 21 - Just last week ' School District turns down school serial levy. A plaque was presented to Frank Turner as a founder by the Chamber of Commerce, and a plaque was given City Councilman Dave McLeod who leaves office after 8 years of service. The Dean Gilmans and Bob Laughlins have prize-winning Christmas lights. John Olaf Bergstrom pioneer son and lifetime resi dent died at 82 on Dec. 17. The twin sons of the Tom Hughes, Michael and David, were married at Monroe. Mr. Leon ard Floan, a county ranch owner died in Portland. Anita Davidson and Mary Abrams are now co-directors of the HHS Band. Gary Wilhelm and Debby Kay Mars were married by Judge Jones at the courthouse on Dec. 6. A C Houghton Christmas Fete By FRANCES ROSE WILSON A large crowd from Irrigon and Boardman attended the A.C.Houghton School program, on Thurs. evening. The Be ginner band followed by the Intermediate band started the program, playing several numbers each, then joined to play "Jingle Bellj". Mrs. LaVern Parlow led the audience in Christmas carols. "Santa Presents", was by levels 1 & 4. The children were in a dilemma when Santa fell asleep, until his helpers came to finish the toys. Christmas Magic was presented by the Kindergarten class and the 6th grade." Level 4 and grade 4 formed a choral singing group. They presented a play entitled "A Chubby Old Elf", centered around trying to put Santa on a diet. It just didn't work. "Christmas in the Stable" by grades 5 and levels 2 & 3, presented the Christmas story in song, while angels, shep herds, and wisemen worshiped at the manger of the Christ child. Then much to the delight of the children Santa Claus arriv ed with treats for all. Home From Spain Sgt. Mike Wilson is home on leave from the Air Force. He has been stationed at the Terrejon Air Base in Madrid, Spain, where he is an Air Force jet mechanic. He expects to return to Spain for 6 months longer. He is spending the holidays with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wilson, brother Steve and sister Kathy. He has another year and a half in the service and plans to join his parents in business after being discharg ed. His parents are building a drive-in and a mobile home court with overnight facilities.
