1972 REVIEW
Cont. from page 4
ter of Morrow county pioneer

buried at Lexington.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Calvert
became the proud parents of a
daughter, Jennifer Dawn, on
Dec. 6. Belinda Suzette arrived
on Dec. 12th to brighten the
home of Mr. and Mrs. David
Morgan at lone. Boardman is
having Open House at the
Nelson Square office building
and at the nearby Frontier
Irrigation and Supply store this
weekend.
Dec. 21 - Just last week '
School District turns down
school serial levy. A plaque was
presented to Frank Turner as a
founder by the Chamber of
Commerce, and a plaque was
given City Councilman Dave
McLeod who leaves office after
8 years of service. The Dean
Gilmans and Bob Laughlins
have prize-winning Christmas
lights. John Olaf Bergstrom
pioneer son and lifetime resi
dent died at 82 on Dec. 17. The
twin sons of the Tom Hughes,
Michael and David, were
married at Monroe. Mr. Leon
ard Floan, a county ranch
owner died in Portland. Anita

A C Houghton Christmas Fete
By FRANCES ROSE WILSON
A large crowd from Irrigon
and Boardman attended the
A.C.Houghton School program,
on Thurs. evening. The Be
ginner band followed by the
Intermediate band started the
program, playing several
numbers each, then joined to
play "Jingle Bellj".
Mrs. LaVern Parlow led the
audience in Christmas carols.
"Santa Presents", was by
levels 1 & 4. The children were
in a dilemma when Santa fell
asleep, until his helpers came to
finish the toys. Christmas
Magic was presented by the
Kindergarten class and the 6th
grade."
Level 4 and grade 4 formed a
choral singing group. They
presented a play entitled "A
Chubby Old Elf", centered
around trying to put Santa on a
diet. It just didn't work.
"Christmas in the Stable" by
grades 5 and levels 2 & 3,
presented the Christmas story
in song, while angels, shep
herds, and wisemen worshiped
at the manger of the Christ
child.
Then much to the delight of
the children Santa Claus arriv
ed with treats for all.
Home From Spain
Sgt. Mike Wilson is home on
leave from the Air Force. He
has been stationed at the
Terrejon Air Base in Madrid,
