While there they stayed with Mr. and Mr. Paul Oyler and son Pon. Spending Ihe weekend with Mr, and Mrs Doyal Hubbell were Mr. and Mri. Pelbert Miller from Portland, Mr. Pwayne Emerson from Astoria, and their daughter Judy Huhltell from The Dulles. Staying the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Pelbert Banee was Mr. and Mr. Pick Boyer and family from North Plains. With them was Mr. Earl Boyer of Portland, Ore. On Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Pon Hardwick went to The Dalles for medical attention for Rose. While there they did some shopping. Mrs. Pauletle Peterson and daughter Cheryll of Portland spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Muzzy. LEAVE KINZUA Mr. and Mrs. Tony Neumeyer moved this week end to Missoula, Montana where they will be making their new home. Tony was an employee of Kinzua Mercantile. Mr. and Mrs. Pick Kendall and family went to Boise, Idaho last week to see Sharon's Father Mr. Melburn Harris who is ill. Mr. Orville Headley went to The Dalles Tuesday to get Mrs. Carol Headley who had leen a patient In the Dalles General Hospital. KENNETH BAKER HOME Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Baker, Lynda and Marti recently entertained at a family dinner. Kenneth, stationed at Rhode Island was home for a week. It was while he waa here that they all got together. Bill has been work ing for Heppner Nor Gas since his discharge from Ihe Army. Steve came over from Pendleton and Mr. and Mrs. Sian Rauch and Jeff came from Roardman. The grand mother, Mrs. Mona Moore, was also there. The secretary, Rhonda Sargent read the minutes of last spring's meeting. Dick Sar gent, one of the leaders, read the treasurer's report. We elected new officer. They are: President, Mark Sar gent; Vice Pres., Krynn Robinson; Secretary Treasurer, Kitty Bellamy and Reporter, Joe Mollahan. Ten new members In the club are: Barbara, Patricia and Cole man Devine, Joe and Jackie Mollahan, Kathy, Doug and Cheryl Garrett, Kirk Sager, Pam Cantin. The first meeting was at Mildred Davidson's home in Lexington. We have six new members. Julie Baker, LuAnn Way, Lynn Dee Devin, Tammy Howard, Maggie Baker and Valerie Bolander. The old members are Janette Piper, Anita Davidson, and Frances Peck. We chose officers for our club. Maggie Baker is Pres., Valerie Bolander is Sec., Frances Peck is New Re porter. October It, 1171 JENSENS HERE Mr. and Mra. Lyle Jensen, Jody, Mike, Rene and Lisa of Adams were here for the weekend visiting with his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Nash. Lyle went hunting with Lee Palmer. Lyle who formerly operated a barber shop in Heppner la now employed at the Pendleton Post Office. Lisa will have a birthday on Nov. 11 and she will be four years old. EXTENSION ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETS WITH STATE BIG WIGS The meeting of County Extension Advisory council was held In Corvallis Oct. 13 and 14. Going from Morrow County were Harold Kerr, County Extension agent and council members Ken Turner, Louis Carlson, Pick Mc Elligott, Mrs. Norman Nelson, Mrs. John Graves. Others going down were Mr. Kerr, Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Carlson and Phil and Clint and Mr. Nelson. This was the first meeting of the four-county Advisory Councils. The purpose was to give county advisory council members an opportunity to meet and discuss with state program leaders the total extension program in Oregon. Morrow County had the largest county representation in attendance. Most of the group attended the Oregon State UCLA game. Split peas are a good protein extender. CHURCH NOTES Pastor Brownfield of the Heppner Seventh Pay Adventist Church has an anounced that this Saturday, October 21, la quarterly visitor's day. Church services will be at 9:30 a.m. with Sabbath School at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Brownfield will deliver the morning sermon. There will be a special mission feature as well as special music.
