Other riders Hot weather and tough com petition were the order of the day at the 4-H Horse Show held in Heppner, Aug. 6. Fifty-one members from the five horse clubs in Mor row County were on hand to take part in the annual event. Sate Fair judging teams and individuals to compete in both senior and intermediate horse events at State Fair are selected on the basis of the highest combined scores for the day. Members are scored b points in both show manship and horsemanship. Those who will attend will be announced later. Three seniors and three in termediates may attend State Fair representing Morrow County. Champion and Reserve Champion from each class were: Small Fry Showman ship, Nancy Miller. Cham pion; Jana Steagall. Reserve Champion, Junior Showman ship, Krynn Robinson, Cham pionship; Wendy Myers, Re serve Champion; Intermed iate Showmanship, Mary Ann Proctor, Champion; Mary Healy, Reserve Champion; Senior Showmanship Sherry Kemp, Champion; and Joan Healy, Reserve Champion. Winners in the Horseman ship Division were: Small Fry , Tony Currin, Champion; Jana Steagall, Reserve Cham pion; Junior. The members were required to judge one class of showman ship, one of conformatlonand one of horsemanship. Official placings were given by judges Karen Robinson and John Hesketh.
