BOYS AND GIRLS from Audrey Jones' afternoon class visited the Gazette Times office on Thursday this week. They saw how the news is taken into the office, how it is set and pasted up for printing. They watched Arnold Raymond operate the linotype. They saw how the pages of the new Fair Pre mium book were made up. Donna Mallory placed 2nd on a child's garment at Po mona judging, reported Mrs. Flossie ball, Pomona Chair man. There will be two con tests at State Grange, one, a special Pillow Case con test, the other on Cookies. If anyone wishes to enter, contact the chairman of the C W.A. He ran to help the con struction foreman. The two men dove in and were able to open the door of the cab that was jammed and water pressure against it made it difficult to open. Dale Car ter of Portland, the driver of the truck was near drown ing and uuconcious when they got him ashore. Art ficial respiration was applied and he had regained conscious ness, when the L'matilla am' bulance arrived. He spent 2 day.- in the Umatilla Hospi tal and was dismissed with no apparent complications. The truck went off the fill, that win enclose the Marina, which can be seen in the back ground of the picture. Ladies event. The Anson Wright Park is on land donated by Mr . and Mrs. Walter Wright and is part of the original homestead. A committee of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wright, Mrs. Orian Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wrightwere appointed to investigate the possibilities of getting the fireplace underway soon. Guests from Boardman for the meeting were Mrs. Flos sie Coats, Hazel Carpenter, Florence Pool and Mrs. Mar tha Baker. Mrs. Edith Babb was wel comed home from her winter in Arizona.
