On June 1, the group will
have a tour of the research
laboratories and greenhouse
facilities where part of the re

how it is set and pasted up
for printing. They watched
Arnold Raymond operate the
linotype. They saw how the
pages of the new Fair Pre
mium book were made up.
Boys and girls in the tour
were Linda Galbraith, Mike
Case, Kay Schoonover, Kathy
McConnell, James Robert
Peabody. They were accom
panied by their teacher.

knew what to do in an emer
gency: He was watching the
construction crew at the Ma
rina in the new Park deve
lopment m Irri'ron. from the
window of his daugh
ters home, when he Saw a
dump truck roll over the bank
and was completely sub
merged in the Colum'na Ri
ver. He ran to help the con
struction foreman. The two
men dove in and were able
to open the door of the cab
that was jammed and water
pressure against it made it
difficult to open. Dale Car
ter of Portland, the driver of
the truck was near drown
ing and uuconcious when they
got him ashore. Art ficial
respiration was applied and
he had regained conscious
ness, when the L'matilla am'
bulance arrived. He spent 2
day.- in the Umatilla Hospi
tal and was dismissed with
no apparent complications.
The truck went off the fill,
that win enclose the Marina,
which can be seen in the back
ground of the picture.
