There were 13 entered in this group. In the Division I IT years and under group. Alan Davis of Bend had the best time with 1:28:39. Brian Adams ofKin zua 2nd and W ill Wilheln. of Fossil 3rd. Jon Secord a 13 year old from John Day was the youngest to compete. There were 11 competing in the group. Division II 13 to 29 years had 13 competitors. Ted Wolfe of Albany was first with a time ofl:16:18;04. Mike Devecka of Bend on the U.S. Ski Team was second and Rick Raymond of Portland was 3rd. Linda Hanneman, Salem, the only girl to en ter, was 14th. Division IV 41 and over had 7 participating with Ed ParK of Bend winning with a time of 1:34:32. Dick Wag ner of Portland, 2nd, Albert Zesinger of New York City 4th. She won the honor by selling the most tickets on the saddle which was won by Steve Brown of Fossil. Vern McCarty won the saddle blanket. On Saturday morning the ne queen was flown to Pen dleton where she was fitted for her purple suit which she wore at noon in the Ro deo parade. With her pur ple suit siie wore a white turtle neck sweater, white gloves and bat. She rode lona El Jas'car her registered quarter horse. Members of her court are Cheryl Lynn Milberger of Appltion, va., Jeauette Wil son of Redmond, Debby Kay Kendall of Pilot Rock and Anita Asher of Spray. Heppner does well at lieppner' s three entrants in the Hoys State Track meet scored 20 points to finish in a three-wa tie with Illinois Valley awl Huntington tor seventh place. Crait Man kers took tourth place in the Hit:h Hurdles with a time of 13.6 vhich was Mow his seasons best of 13. land came tuck for a second place in the low hurdles in a time of 21.1. Barney Marshall set two new school records by put tine the shot 51'4" for a third place finish and throw inp the discus 142' for a fifth place. Luke Padnerg didn't finish among the top six but ran to a personal best of 10.32 in the two mile. Coach Naffziger said of .Marshall and Munkers, "They have worked hard for their accomplishments. They have been a joy to work with and I hate to see them grad uate." Coach Naffziger says that Padberg who is only a sophomore "with hard work will be among the top place finishers in the state meet the next two years."
