French Class Goes Visiting Miss Sarah Andrew's lone High School Frencn class took a field trip to Portland on May 3. The group dined at the Chateau L'Abbe', a French restaurant inMilwau kie. They toured the Port land Art Museumand the State Historical Society. The stu dents were accompanied by Miss Andrew, Mrs. Roland Bergstrom, and Mrs. Louis Carlson. The French stu dents taking the tour were Christina Lindstrom, David Warren, Gresg Wilson, Shauna Bergstrom, Cheri Carlson, Cathy Cannon, Kath leen McEUigott, Melissa Mc Elligott. and D-Ann Barnett. MRS. ROBERT REAVIS of Lexington was taken to Port land to Providence Hospital from Pioneer Memorial Hos pital last week. Her mother, Sara Banks came up from Mbany to be with her. The wedding originally scheduled for April 28th had tu be postponed due to in juries suffered in a car ac cident to the groom, best man, and Rochelie' s brother. The bride was lovely in a white lace gown with train, fashion ed and made by herself and a veil of net centered with a satin rose. Her bouquet was of white carnations and red rosebuds. She was given in marriage by her brother Robert Smith who escorted the bride via his wheel chair. The best man also in a wheel chair was David Ban Beek, who escorted the groom also in a wheel chair to the waiting room of the fourth floor of St. Anthony's which was decorated with bouquets of white carnations. Performing the double ring ceremony was Rev. Raymond Bates of the Free Methodist Church of Pendleton. Maid of honor was Arvella Nor quist in a street length lav ender dress with matching hat. Following the ceremony the groom's sister Dixie Kay Streeter served the wedding cake to the invited guests. Mr. Peck who is to be re leased from the hospital this week will remain ir. Pendle ton, until the 26th at which time he will return to his duties in the L'SS Navy. Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Jones were those from Lexington who attended the wedding ser vices. The wedding solemnized in the presence of family and close friends was held at the Karron home with Bishop Llovd Ashcrofl of the Church of Latter Day Saints presid ing. The bride wore a floor length white Grecian styled dress and carreid white carnations. Maid of honor was Maria Mayfieldwhowore a floor length dress of lav ender with carnation corsage. Best man was Allen Davis. A reception was held follow ing the ceremony with the bride and groom cutting the traditional first slice of cake, which was three layers topped with a lovely lace creation, featuring a bride and groom. Those from Lexington at tending were the bride's grandmother Mrs. Florence McMillan, an aunt Mrs. C.C. Jones, and cousin of the gro om, Mrs Joe Yocom. The young couple were visitors later in the week at the home of Mrs. McMillan, before his return to duty with the US Air force. Holly Rebekah Lodge met on Thurs. Visiting was Mrs. Jo Huston of Heppner, Mor row County District Deputy President. At this time Mrs. Dimple Munkers gave the un written work, and Mrs. June Fields the WG was presented a seal. Mrs. Munkers was recommended to the State President, as District Deputy president for District No. 20 for 1972 and 73. Refresh ments were served later, to the Oddfellows and Rebekahs. Club will meet on Thurs. at the home of Mrs. Irene Padberg, and the Mother's Day traveling Food Sale will be held Sat., starting at 9:30 from Florence McMillan's home. She was awarded the East Oregonian revolving trophy, a pair of Hyer Elite boots from the Country Cubbler, and a gift certificate irom the Elks Club for a hat from Hamley's. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pettyjohn, Mari anne competed during the past four weekends and entered in the following events: barrel racing, pole bending, figure eight stake race, goat tie ing, and break-away calf rop ing. The Grange mem bers really appreciate all the many donations they received that ent to make the auc tion such a success. The Spray S O S. Club Is still working loearn money to fence the tennis court. The drawing for the community quilt is to lie Thurs. night at the awards banquet. Monday, May 1 the Mill in Spray started working again after many weeks of lay off. The 7th and 8th grade tra veled to Kah Ne Ta to spend the day picntclng and swim ming. They had earned money for this trip by selling maga zines early this year. They had a fine time. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Britt left Sunday to tie with Mrs. Sid Britt Monday when Sid was to have surgery.
