O.W. Cutsforth Home Fills With Fortyfour At Family Dinner Sunday. Dee. W was pretty big day l the O. W. Cutsforth. Sr. home. Most of Orville'g fam ily gathered fur Christmai din ner. Twenty -five of hut twenty. mx grandt hillren were present, A the various family croups arrived, Santa Clau Orville passed out their Christmas glf (h. Forty fur partook of turkey and hum prepared by Barbara and a great variety of vide dish-i-s prepared by Cutsforth dau ghter and daughters-in-law. Those present were Orville' daughters and families the Ji Shopmeycrs. Beaverton l.rothy I; the (ton Olsena, Pas co tFayel; the Jim Gormana, Heppner (Sharon); and the Rog er Gcrmundsons, Grcsham tVes tat and the Kilkenny children. Pat Kilkenny's girl friend Con nie of Eugene also Joined the g'oup. Lisa and Donna Cuts forth ure now home on vacation from their schools for the hol idays with their parents. Sns and families included: thi Orville Cutsforth, Jrs. i Fritz I ; the Pat Cutsforths; and Mrs. Gene Cutsforth. all of Lex ington; and Kenneth Cutsforth, llrppner, and his children. The grandchild not present. was Dotra Zita. Dorothys old est daughter. Mrs. Alta Cuts forth Heppner. the children's grandmother also attended. Paul and David To Nat'l. Rodeo Finals Paul Hisler, Jr., and David Malhcnv had an evlllng two uivkV trip to the National Ro deo finaU In Oklahoma City, during December. They drove In Dave' car east through Wyo ming and Colorado and came rack la Texas. Arizona and N'evnda. The finals show last never) days, but the fellows had tick its' for only two days' perfoim awvs. They especially enjoyed their visit to the National Cow b .ys Hull of Fame where they m in hours looking at the ex hibit and had a noon meal. As the boys drove home they hit heavy weather at Flagstaff. Ariz. They came through much now. Boulder Dam was one of he high poU of their trip home. Paul is the son of the Paul 'lishrs of upiHT Butterereek. Dave is the Hon of the Orville Mathenya of Heppner. Paul is a former and original member of the BMCC Rodeo Team. Dave Isloi.ged to the OSU Kodeo ream. Both fellows are mem bers of the NRA (Northwest Ro deo Association I and perform In summer rodeos. (Our spies said the lads stop ped In Las Vegas and tried to r finance the l.uvi. Winchesters Enjoy Family and 9 Dogs The Ernie Winchester house hold had many extra guests f.r Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Lou ell Turner (Lois's son) and their daughters Kim and Kisha arrived from Santa Rose, Calif., on Dee. 23. They brought along their Beagle, Heidi, and their Gre.it Dane, Ponia. In ord.-r to accommodate family, dogs and Christmas gifts, Lowell and Kiiie had to rent a U-Haul trail er. Lois fixed a great big stew for 9 dogs on Christmas Day, this happy group Included the Winchester's own goodly collec tion, the visitors from Califor nia, and a neighborhood pooch that Lois was "dog" sitting. Mrs. Alta Stevens went to Hardman for Christmas with other Stevens kinfolk at the h'jme of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stevens. Others there were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Stevens, Johnny and Jojean, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Erinda of Heppner and Larry Brinda of Pendleton. Four Daughters At Collins Home Mayor and Mrs. Bill Collins, with Lisa who Is still at lume. had all of their four daughters home for Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Tottleben, Davie and Brian of Harrisburg, Jeanne Col lins of San Leandro, Ca., who had a two week vacation and Patti from her teaching at Soap Lake. Grays Have Traditional Supper Christmas Eve supper is a tra dition at the Merritt Grays f ir their sons, the grandmother, Ma bel Gray; an auntie, Florence Gray and an uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gray. Sons are Mr. and Mrs. Mike Gray, Susan, Arlene and Terry; Ron Gray, lawnie and Tieve, Harold Gray and David Gray. Goodman In Flight School Marine Second Lieutenant George I!. Goodman, son of Mr. and Mrs, Maitland 11. Goodman of Spray, has completed the first phase of Naval Flight Training at the Environmental Indoctrin ation School, Naval Air Station. Pensaeola, Fla. During the three-week course he received Instruction in Basic Aerodynamics. Aviation Phys iology. Engineering and Land and Sea Survival Techniques. The first actual phase of naval flight training. He is a 1971 graduate of Ore gon College of Education. The Heppner American Legion Post and the Legion Auxiliary remind members of a meeting this Monday evening at 8:00 at the Legion Hall. There will not' be a pot luck this time. ! Mr. and Mrs. IVwey WagenbUst, The Dalles, spent three days with their or Alvin and family. On Christ mas Eve this group was ). lined by Mr. and Mm. Charles Colley and by the Wagenblast's son and daughter In law, John and Jackie, lone. Their second son. Steve and his wife Vickie spent Chrlstmua with Vickie's sister and brother-in-law, the Dennis Phillips at Corvallis. Mr. and Mrs, Ron Palmer went to Corvallis to apend Christmas with their family, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Palmer. Jr.. and Llnd.i Palmer. Ron is attending Linn Benton Community Col lege. He went back to school after completing his stint In the Navy. Linda will graduate in March from Oregon Stale In Sociology with emphasis In Juvenile area. She Is working two days a week in Salem with the Juvenile De partment and two days a week out of the Sheriffs office In Benton County. Postmaster James Drlscoll was ill several days last week. Mrs. Lucy Peterson returned Saturday night, Dec. 4 from Co qullle. She spent Thankglvii.g day with her daughter Marthi Long, husband Hill and their son Aiden In Portland. Lucy then traveled to Co,ullle where she visited for a week with her dau ghter Ruth and her husband BiU llasel and their two daughters Donna and Heidi, and their new little brother Steven who Is now almost one year old and whom Grandma Lucy aw for the first time. Tbe Jenry Sweeneys have a houseful of younger Sweeney during tho holidays Mike i home from Gonzaga, Pat from Lane Community College, Dan from the U of O, and Kathleen has already returned to Bassist Institute. Brian and Greg will return to Heppner classroom on Jan. 3. Harold Erwla was downtown yesterday and looking much better. He was recently over at Pendleton Community Hospital undergoing a number of tests. Harold said he felt a bit better.
