George, Secretary 48-49c Tom Green is home from Viet nam and has received his dis charge. His plans are indefinite but he plans to stay at Heppner for awhile and may go back to school this fall. Tom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Green. Lt Chris Brown recently spent two weeks leave with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul C. Brown. Lt. Brown has been dec orated many times for valorous action. Will Hinton came to the Wil low Creek Valley from Ue Long Citek atea when he was a young rriM. He farmed below Heppner approximately where the John Woods now live. He moved on to L'klah for some years and has tor quite tew years lived with hl daughter Vldct and husband GeraJd Swaegart on Little Butter Creek. Mrs. Hinton died about ten years ago. Mr. Hinton Is survived by sons Elmer A. Hinton. Canyon City, and George E. Hinton. L'klah. and daughter Violet Swaggart. Rt. 2 Heppner; a sis ter Mrs. Lottie Blake, Olympla, Wn.; 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 great greatgrandchildren. His casket bearers were Al Hinton. Billv Hinton. Cleve Hinton, Bob Shroll. Don Norden. Richard Beardsley, Larry Rice. Bill Palmer and Pat Owens. Neighbors who knew Will Hinton say he was a wonderful gentleman. They point out that he was always first in line to help any friend or neighbor who had troubles.
