JEWELERS a eoioui. was odmhi JOTS We were sorry to hoar that Mary Schwarz was back In St. Anthony Hospital. Last week I wrote "Mrs. Leu Kay Schwarz , is in St. Anthony Hospital." Annie called to toll me she was receiving all kinds of "Got well cards". So wnd your cards to Mrs. Len Schwarz because he is still over there. She under ( went surgery on Monday. Len came home Tuesday evening and said she was doing well. AIabm We went to Alabama to spend ; " ii-oi"" """. y 'only way to go is to fly and it is if you don't have much J time. The time we went backj ; on the bus is the trip I liked ; tlie best for the things you get to see. ! But we were short of time so we flew this time. We go back j every other year and they come out here the other years so we see them at least once a year, j Flying is amazing. We took .off from Portland at 7 o clock in the morning with overcast !: skies. To Seattle and then east 1 1 hate flying above the clouds but I do love the sunshine. I , were when the clouds broke and j I could see contour, strip farm Ing that finally gave way to large fields that I Knew would have to be flat land. I tried to make a river the Platte river in Nebraska. The pilot came on the loud speaker to tell us we; were over the Bad Lands m the Dakotas! So we must have been flying over Montana. Then we hit clouds again and it was snowing nasty when we landed at St. Louis. More clouds all the way to Huntsville at 2 p.m. It was 47 degrees just two de grees warmer than when we'd left Seattle. Charlie is generous in that he always lets me sit by the window; on the other hand he doesn't like heights so maybe he isn't being so generous! I had never completed reading i "Homesteads and Heritages' and I almost got it finished. I enjoyed it immensely. They feed you all the time so there wasn t really much time for reading. Usually Charlie gets stuck with scrambled eggs and he hates them. That morn ing he kept talking about dol lar pancakes. Would you believe that's what we had? Dollar hot cakes and little smoked saus ages. But on our return flight Monday morning he was back on scrambled eggs! It's great fun visiting the south but I'd rather live in the northwest !
