A pre fair style revue practice on Wednesday, July 14, prepared clothing and knitting members for appearances in 4-H style revue. Livestock members with sheep projects had lambs sheared Tuesday at C & B Livestock. Fair premium books have been mailed to each 4-H fam ily. New events and activities have been added in the 4-H section, as well as exhibit re quirements for new clubs. Pre mium books are available at the County Extension Office for anyone interested in making fair entries, either 4-H or Open Class. Albert B. Bowker Passes Albert B. Bowker, 92, a for mer Heppner resident, passed on last week In San Diego, Calif. His birthday was June 30. Mr. Bowker was well known in this part of Oregon having operated the Heppner Garage for many years and later wheat ranching in the Eight Mile ar ea. Funeral services were at Pa cific Beach Mortuary with Dr. Sidney Mayer of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Rose City Cem etery, Portland. Survivors are a brother, Harry Bowker of Portland; a daughter, Mrs. W. F. Duemling, Bremerton, Wash.; a son, A. D. Bowker of San Diego, CaLf. lone Swimming Lessons Completed Maureen McEUUrott Water Safety Instructor of the lone Swimming pool started the American Red Cross Swimming Lessons June 2-July 9. Two classes were given each morn ing, beginners and advanced be ginners. Those members passing beginners course were: Richard Ladd, Nancy Miller, Lorl Prock, Lisa Meyers, Diane Morter, Ellz azeth McElligott, Craig Gutier rez, Duane Fetsch, Chris Rlet mann, Andy Roberts, Annette Roberts, Rick Doherty and Treve Peterson. Those enrolled in ad vanced beginners, and passing were: Mary and Margaret Kin- cald, Cathy Gutierrez, Doug and Linda Bristow, Allen and Bob Roberts, Anita Palmer, Joan Do herty, Michelle and Jerry McEl ligott, Gregg and Brian Rlet mann, Jerry Rietmann, Paula and Teena Lindstrom, Wad West, Craig Rea, Ralph Morter, Becky Eubanks. Also helping Maureen were Cathy Cannon, Mary McElligott, and Carol Holtz, swimming aides. Death of R. H. Nash Of Hood River Mrs. Lincoln Nash received word of the death of R. H. Nash of Hood River. R. H. Nash died at his home Wednesday, July 7, he was the brother of Lincoln Nash of Heppner. Mrs. Lee Palmer of lone took Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Nash down to the home of Elmer Springer of Hood River, also brother of Lincoln Nash. That evening Bud Springer and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Jensen of Heppner drove down to get Mrs. Palmer. Burial was held July 7 at 7:00 p.m. Gazette-Times want ads pay. In Bend Theresa Hughes is In Bond visiting Terrie Hardie. They are horse friends. They planned to go to the Prlneville Races while she was down there. Teitle was hero with Theresa for the Junior Rodeo. Riding Camp-out Planned for Weekend Some members of the Wrang lers are planning a riding camp out for this weekend. This is the over night excursion to take place of the annual overnight ride which had to be cancelled for this year. Anyone wishing to go oh the camp-out must bring their own food and bedding as none jlvlll be furnished. There will be a stove available and hay for horses will be furnished. Rid ers should meet at th6 rodeo grounds at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning and some trucks will be available to haul horses. Hor ses will be taken to the Mud Springs Cabin on Ditch Creek. For further inrormauon con tact Jack Wright, who is organ izing the camp-out. There will be no charge for the trip as it is a spontaneous outing rather than being sponsored by the wranglers. GRACE SEERS HOME Grace Steers Is home from the Veterans Hospital in Portland after having surgery.' She was home June 20, then back for a checkup July 1. Doctors all say she's doing fine.
