Designate Deputy Clerk to be Vandals Busy State Police reported yesterday serious vandalism of several mountain cabins in the county. The Christian Church cabin on Willow Creek and the Stan Cox cabin at Arbuckle Corral had doors kicked in and a number of windows broken out The van dalism occurred Sunday after noon. Forest Service signs were shot up and several torn down, be lieved to have been done by the same group. Suspects are being investigated by authori ties. Suspects are believed to be from HermLston area. As they drove by one occupied cabin, they used obscenities. Adjourn Golden Agers fo Picnic July 25 Golden Agers summer picnic has been scheduled for July 25 at 4 p.m. at the County Court house lawn. This will be a pot luck picnic. Coffee, paper plates and cups will be furnished. The picnic Is potluck and those com ing are asked to also bring their silverware. Carl Troedson Is pic nic chairman. All Golden Agers and their friends are cordially invited. Linda Orwlck is working in Eugene this summer. She is em ployed at a super market She will be back at the University of Oregon this fall for her Jun ior year. I0NE NEWS For Judy Marls A lovely baby shower was held at the American Legion Hall Friday for Mrs. John Jep sen, and six months old daugh ter, Judy Marie. The gift table was decorated with a flower centerpiece of red roses and white daisies. Mrs. Grace Mc Kinney and Mrs. Robert Harri son of Heppner helped Mrs. Jep sen with the gifts. Barbara Palmer and Becky Eubanks passed the gifts. The tea table was centered with a large cake decorated in pink and white, with a miniature bassinet and booties on the top. Mrs. Alice Majeske of Lexington poured the coffee and Mrs. Gladys Hel lker presided at the punch bowl. Hostesses were the members of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mr. and Mrs. James Carr open ed The Blue Room" teenage youth center last Friday even ing. The center is located in the rear of the Willow Creek Carpenter shop, and is open to all teenagers. Parents are cor dially invited to Inspect the premises. At the present they have a pool table, pinball ma chine, shooting gallery machine, coin operated snack bar which contains candy bars, potato chips, etc., music and soft drinks. The hours are tentative ly set at 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. on weekdays, and 12:00 to 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Nichols were here visiting Mrs. A. G. Pleper and the John Mollahans last week. Mr. Nichols was enroute from Fort Lewis to Vietnam. Mrs. Nichols will be in Portland with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hall, while her husband is gone. Rodeocrs to Appear At Chamber Monday Members of the Morrow County Rodeo committee will meet here with the Heppner -Morrow Coun ty Chamber of Commerce at their luncheon meeting Monday, July 19 at the Wagon Wheel. HARVESTING Carl Troedson said Monday that they started barley harvest last week. A few slopes were ripe and ready to go. They have stopped now until some more is ready to harvest. lone Square Dance club had a square dance at Cutsforth Park Saturday evening. Three squares enjoyed the evening.
