PAD MOUNT . . . the New Transformer Bank for Irrigation Line superintendent Bill Gent ry, supervised tne iirst "aa Mount" transformer bank for ir rigation that has been installed in Columbia Basin Cooperative's system. The wires were brought 1700 feet under ground from the fenceline to the installation. This new 300 H.P. installa tion belongs to Mary Doherty and is located Northeast of the unction of Highway 207 and the Boardman road. When completed it will be a circle type irrigation and is en gineered so the sprinklers will pass over the pump, transform- er, switches, meter and an. This circle will irrigate 130 acres of land that was former used for the grazing of sheep and cattle but with ade quate water will be suitable for wheat, potatoes, or any crop grown in the area. Supt. Gentry, who has been with Columbia Basin Electric for over 20 years, says this is one of the best looking systen that has been installed in our area.
