There was some discussion as to whether to hold the annual school picnic, it finally was de cided to dispense with It this year- . Au Room count was won by the first and eighth grades. Wranglers See Movies A good sized crowd attended the last Wranglers meeting where movies of the 1964 and 1969 Pendleton RoundUp were shown by Harold Kerr. Charlie Daly obtained the films which were produced by the Wide World of Sports and shown pre viously on national television. These films were very Interest ing and some familiar faces were seen on the screen. During the business session, It was unanimously approved to extend a life time membership In the club to Fred Mankln, In appreciation for many years of support, nara worn mm mui iasm. Besides having worked for many years in the club and or ganlzlng many activities, Fred has served over 20 years as su perintendent of the horse show and has used his personal loud speaker system for the horse dhow and other public functions. Fred recently gave this speaker system to the club and it Is now operated by Mike Matthews. The club also approved a do nation of $25.00 to the Morrow County Historical Committee to help in the publication of the history of Morrow county Refreshments were served at tl rnnnlusloii of the meeting ,.. by the committee m w8. the evening. "I never in tended to be a steady grass smoker, but I found myself us ing more and more. It really tlidn't scorn to bother me at first." After using marijuana and hashish for several months, he began to wonder what LSD might be like. He said, "While I was straight, I told myself I wouldn't take acid, but when I was stoned on pot, I couldnt see why I shouldn't try it. nfnm innrr he was smoking as many as 20 marijuana cig arettes a day, dcsiux-3 usie LSD, amphetamines, barbltuates' and even heroin until his sup ply of heroin ran out. To af ford such a quantity of drugs, he and his friends bought them in wholesale quantities. In Morrow County, on the Da- sis of the Social Security Ad ministration's annual report, payments to local beneficiaries were at the average yearly rate of $1,048 per recipient. Beginning in June, when the first payments reflecting the in crease will arrive, the local ave raero will be S1.153. Separate checks will follow a few weeks later to cover the increase Irom Jan. 1. For the local commmunity as a whole, the pension payments this year will amount to ap proximately 5T766.000, as com pared with tne previous luiai oi $696,000.
