Important Birthday First birthdays are important and when the first haircut comes the same day that makes It doubly important. Jason (Butch) Wilson had this big happening. Then the Struthers, Patrick, Rene, Sophia and Dan cy, came to have birthday cake and ice cream with him. His first birthday cake was a tiny one-year size topped with straw berry Ice cream. Butch is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wil son. Other guests for his birth day party were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Struthers and his aunt, Susan Wilson; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Wilson and his great grandmother, "Nancy Kautz". Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Hudson are In Missouri for a several week's visit. This Is the home state for both of them. They are visiting many old friends and relatives. Spring Comes The first signs of spring are the newly painted store fronts on Main St. First came the Coast-to-Coast white front with the yellow signs. Jimmy Thorn son matched the yellow with his store front. Between the two stores is Heppner's precious old store front. Tuesday the paint started going on it. HEPPNEH PH. 676-9200 Reunion is Attraction At Klamath Falls Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Steers and family, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Steers, Pearl Steers and Grace Buschke drove to Klamath Falls Friday. They attended a family reunion and a Joint wedding celebration. There were 67 mem bers of the family at the din ner Saturday evening. The 55th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Steers of Klamath Falls and the 25th wedding anniversary of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brisbois of Napa, Ca., were observed with a reception Saturday afternoon. More than 250 called during the day. Two sons of the Brisbois who are in the service were home for the occasion. They will return to Germany shortly. The Heppnerltes went down by way of Mitchell. They en countered snow, hall and sleet. They came home by way of Lakevlew and Burns. They re port better driving conditions this route. Mr. and Mrs. Steagall have lived in Morrow County since their marriage at Harlan, Ky. Three years ago they purchased the Dr. Wagner home on Hin ton Creek. Mr. Steagail worked at the mill before he went Into the service and returned there to work following his discharge. They have four children, two daughters and two sons. Brenda, married to John Ratcllff, lives in Portland and Vicki, employ, ed in Pendleton. Sons are George, senior at Heppner High School and Tommy at home. CowBelles Date Annual Spring Luncheon The Morrow County CowBelles have announced their Annual Spring Luncheon will be April 23, 1:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church Parish Hall. The charge will be $1.50 per person with the 1971 new members as guests of the CowBelles. Mrs. Clyde Nutting will be guest speaker for the afternoon, giving thought-provoking obser vations on the needed revision of cattle theft laws in the state from an ex-Brand Inspector's wife's point of view. New members will be ac quainted with the function of the CowBelles through the busi ness meeting report on the ac tivities to promote beef. Wn. En route to Renton, they pick ed up their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Jones, Holly and Guy in Hood River. Their youngest son, Ray joined the family from Roseburg. Mr. and Mrs. Rod Brown and Amy left March 26 aboard the ferry for Juneau, Alaska. They are taking a leave of absence from their studies at the Unl versity of Oregon to work up there.
