Champion Cook Keeps Her Cool In Hoi- Competition (Continued rrom page 1) After two and one half hours, Mrs. Lindstrom's cake was fin ished and judged. Judging was based on 10 per cent for gen eral appearance, 15 per cent for frosting, 30 per cent on flavor, 15 per cent on lightness and 30 per cent on crumb. A Winner When the results were an nounced, Mrs. Lindstrom learn ed she had won third place with Mrs. Sam Domshot, Her miston placing first and Abe line Klngsberry, Jefferson Coun ty, second. Awards The three top winners were awarded silver footed engraved cake plates. In addition, the first place winner also received $100. Mrs. Lindstrom feels it is im portant that she take part in Wheat League functions as her husband is nn active member. Althoitfih the experience was valuable and participating Is important, when asked if she would do it again, Mrs. Lind strom said, "I'll have to think about it." Talk on Education At Chamber Dec. 14 Ken Stanhope, Superintendent of IED and Ernest Chrlstler, Dir ector of Special Education, both of Pendleton, will be speakers at the Heppner-Morrow County Chamber of Commerce meeting, Monday, Dec. 14. They will give an explanation of services performed by the In termediate District as it relates to local districts. Tha Heppner Order of Rain- bow Girls are having their an nual Christmas dance at the IOOF Hall this Saturday. Danc ing will begin at 9 p.m. with a Pendleton band. The theme for this year's dance Is "Jingle Bell Rock" and their decorations will be in silver and purple. Sandl Mathews is chairman.
